I was told i had pcos in 2009.Wow thanks for all the comments just got my first bottle of vitex... hope it works for me, I have had all the issues as most of u and then some. @MrsMiller thank u also because i absolutly thought I was alone with the no cycle so months on end.. then a long 2month cycle. very miserible...But thank God theres help..Plusi have gone 2 dr. after dr. they all say the same thing bc pills for 6-8 months with metiformine and it didn't work for me. Im 29 and irregular pds since i was 13. My husband n i have been ttc 3months now I don't have any children but trust in God and his herds.. Hopefully this is where he has lead me I will cont to pray for all of u please do the same for us. much sucess.

My diet is already super clean (absolutely no sugar of any kind and nothing that can convert to sugars quickly in my body like starchy foods for 6/7 days per week) and I exercise on a daily basis. So far I've lost 10Lbs of fat and gained 0.29Lbs of muscle in the last 50 days. I took a much lower dose of the 80mg vitex and I thought it helped, but my Ob-gyn said my progesterone levels were still too low and that I didn't ovulate. So I upped the dosage to 520mg per day this time and we'll see what happens. I used to have a somewhat regular cycle when I was younger, so I really suspect the PCOS was brought on by the little extra fat I am carrying (only about 15Lb). I guess my body is just very sensitive.

I agree! I started taking 1000mg per day of vitex and I finally ovulated as well. Progesterone levels were quite high too which I wasn't expecting to hear. I had been taking gelatinized maca for 6 months before I even started the Vitex, and I found that really helped me to start losing the weight. It gave me more energy which in turn allowed me to start working out. I then started to incorporate high frequency training and that's when I started to see results! I basically would face the wall and do 20 squats (facing the wall forces you to have proper form) or 10 pushups on the counter several times per day, AND every day, usually right before I eat. It only took me about ONE minute TOTAL to do the exercises each time. Doesn't sound like much but it works wonders and it's a great starting point that will keep you motivated! :-)
I had also cut out all sugars (including fruits with exception of tomatoes and avocados), and cut out breads, pasta, rice and potatoes (including sweet potatoes) and all dairy. I started eating a tonne more vegetables, salads and legumes (beans) along with chicken, beef, eggs and I finally started dropping weight! For the first time ever, it almost felt easy to lose the extra weight I had. It was incredible and very motivating too! My goal was to just cut out the sugars only for a week, but I felt so good not eating all those extra things that I just kept it up!

Search for articles relating to Leptin and insulin. He's really helped us put a lot of things into perspective as to how our bodies work and by having this knowledge, we were able to begin correcting our physical problems. :-)
