Let me begin by telling my story. I am 24 years old. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14 years old and immediately put on birth control. My doctor did not go into detail about exactly what this condition was and I was too young to care to ask so I just went with the flow. As I got older, I begin to research and ask questions. I found that this condition is generalized as an "overweight" condition and I was instantly annoyed. I am very thin and very healthy. I was always active in sports and I exercise regularly. Not everyone is diabetic and overweight so pleeeaaassseee change your mind frames. Anyway, I was on and off the birth control for years. I probably got my period naturally about twice a year. I researched and found out that the birth control pills mask the condition and do nothing to help so I stopped taking them earlier this year. I found out about vitex and after some more research I decided to try it. I started taking the 400mg capsules three times a day on November 14...on November 19 I got my first real period in a looooooonnnnggggg time AND it only lasted three days (in the past it was a week). Today is only the 23rd, but I can see and feel major changes in myself. My skin is not oily and I am not having those horrible lower abdomen pains. i am almost certain I will ovulate next week too! lol I am going to continue to take the vitex. I refuse to take birth control pills any more! I highly recommend vitex, but it may not work for everyone's condition. There are different forms of PCOS...you have to find what works for you.
