My name is Hannah, I'm 19 years old, and for the past 2 months, almost 3, I've been throwing up consistently. /Usually/ I'm throwing up in the middle of the night, between 4am and 8am, and vomit at least 5 times each day. Sometimes it's right after eating, and sometimes I feel there's no apparent cause for it, in the middle of the day, or even at work. Typically, if I eat the night before, I throw up the last meal, but now it's become completely inconstant, whether I've eaten or not, I'm still vomiting.

When I vomit, if there's food, that takes 1-2 times to get rid of all the food in my stomach. After that, its a lot of dry heaving, coughing, and bile. I've tried a couple times to purposely consume a small glass of water to dilute the acid, and induce vomiting so I know my stomach is clear. Drinking water makes it easier on my throat, and the process a lot more effortless. Of course, I'm not doing this very often, but when the pain is bad, and I don't even have the energy to cough, it's the only thing that helps. When there's no food to throw up, I gag out this gross white thick foam, and sometimes when it gets extremely harsh, there's a thick amount of yellow bile at the bottom. If I get to the point of vomiting the yellow bile, it usually takes 5 times before it's at that point, and is /extremely/ painful.

So far, I've seen /no/ blood in the vomit.

Today I've thrown up 4 times already, since 7:30 this morning, and I even went to my Dr. to schedule /ANOTHER/ appointment.

On the 17th I went to the Urgent Care Clinic because I'd thrown up over 19 times that morning, less than 15 minutes between each time, and my stomach was torn up so bad, I couldn't handle the pain. They gave me a butt injection, that was a slow release, and would help with the nausea, which it did for about 4 days, then I was right back to the same thing.

I'm at my wit's end... I've been to the Dr. several times, and STILL have no answers. The Urgent Care Dr. said it could be a stomach ulcer, and I know they tested my gallbladder, but out of all the blood work and tests they did, nothing has come up. I've got NOTHING to go on... and I don't know how much more of this I can take....

Things I think may be relevant;

Birth Control
-I've started birth control (Sprintec) As of July 2nd, and have been on it for a Month and a week.
-I take it ever night after I get home from work at 10 pm
-When I spoke to the consultant at my Dr's office this morning, she said the current dosage of estrogen in it may be a little high, and they may need to adjust it.
-But, the consultant also said that my vomiting symptoms /should/ have gone away within the first month of taking it. I have a follow up appointment set up.
-And of course, I'm taking the BC because I'm now sexually active, as of the past 4 months.
-Also when I went to the UCC, they tested many things, and one of them was pregnancy, which came back negative. They've tested this every time I've gone to the Dr, at my request, so I know 'morning sickness' caused by pregnancy is definitely not the problem.

Eating Habits
-I can barely eat anything at all, because my stomach feels like it's shrank, and I have trouble eating a full meal.
-I maybe eat 2-3 times a day.
-Since I've started working in March, I've only been taking 15 minute breaks, and eat what I can in that short amount of time. I eat once as soon as I wake up, (if I've thrown up, afterwords) and maybe a small 'meal' at work. Usually I can stomach a bowl of cereal, like cheerios after work.
-I drink, A LOT of water, especially since the stomach pains. Water seems to help, but only when I've not recently thrown up. If I've thrown up recently, I can't consume /anything/ for at least an hour, not even water, so I'm sure I'm fighting dehydration as well.

Stress
-Lately, I've been VERY stressed out, especially because of the constant vomiting.
-I've had to call out at least once a day every 2 weeks I work. So as a result, I'm not making enough income.
-I can barely afford the food I'm able to eat, and the fact that I'm throwing up half of it, and wasting it, is really discouraging...
-Bills are piling up because of me going to the Dr. constantly, which is hilarious, because not ONE of them has given me an answer. I'm losing my faith in the healthcare system, because it shouldn't have taken this long, and gotten this bad.... I'm now at the point where I'm just waiting to fall over and black out, and them take me to the ER. Maybe then I'd be getting some medical treatment... God knows how much THAT hospital bill is going to set me back....
-In May, I broke up with a boyfriend I'd been with for over a year and a half. And the leading up to it was so emotionally stressful I was actually throwing up over guilt. I still feel bad the way things were left off, but it's not nearly as much on my mind.

The saddest part is, after I broke up with the guy, I set myself a goal to work on reaching 'self-actualization' and living a less stressful life.

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow%27s_hierarchy_of_needs

Right now I'm farther away from self-actualization than I've ever been in my life. I /know/ stress can do vicious things, so I know stress must have /some/ factor in this problem.

.... If anyone has any helpful advice for me in the meantime, please, I'm grasping at thin air, and I feel like I'm ready to just fall over. I've pretty much got nothing to go on, and no one to rely on to help me through this...

It can get even worse.

I have been vomiting 15 times a day maybe, since June 2012 and now it's Jan. 2013 and I still can't eat. Some days, I can't even have a sip of water and I'll keep trying cuz I'm dying of thirst, but will keep throwing it up. I've had under 10 real meals in about 7 months, my appetite has pretty much disappeared all together and I feel like my stomach has shrunk. I vomit bile and foam when the food is out of my stomach, if there was any to begin with. I haven't had my period in over 7 months either. I've been to the hospital 4 times and to a doctor who ran tests as well, all with no answers. I've been given multiple different medications to try. Currently, I'm taking Domperidone (sp?) and I have to use suppository anti nausea meds as I can't keep down the oral ones.

Has anyone ever heard of this before? I've had several tests done including a stomach biopsy (which hurt like hell), an ultrasound, a barium test, x-ray, several blood tests and more, all with no answers. My stomach is full of patches. Dark red, scab like patches that cover more than have the surface. Oh, and I don't have parasites either! I've been tested already. I am so weak and pass out sometimes and can barely get out of bed every day. I feel like I'm dying in my house. I'm a 39 year old female, by the way. Any ideas? I'm going to see an internist specialist, but that won't be for weeks as they're all booked up. I'm at a complete loss and feel like I'm going to be dead before anything is figured out.

I feel for you. I've been going through the same thing. I'm throwing up or dry heaving anywhere from 5 to 20 times a day. This has been going on for 4 weeks now and still they have no answers. No doctor can seem to figure out what's going on and I'm losing hope. I am eating once a day to once every other day and I can feel myself withering away. They have put me on several different meds to control the nausea but they only help for so long. I'm at my whits end as well...

The gastroenterologist that I am currently under treatment by is doing a CT scan of my head. He wants to rule out anything like brain tumors since all of the other testing showed nothing.

I have a similar problem. It starter about a year ago. I went to a specialist and they gave me meds that cost $4000. I definitely can't afford them. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat, I just get a sudden, uncontrollable need to vomit. I eat tums like they're going out of style. Even if I haven't eaten, lime first thing in the morning, I still throw up. I've gotten pretty good at hiding it at this point, I throw up at work and at home, sometimes in the bushes where ever I may be. I feel so weak sometimes. I had a hysterectomy about a month ago but it was happening before then. I'm so miserable and I feel like I can't eat anything, even though if I don't eat it still happens. If I take time out of work to go to the doctors I'll lose my job. I had a test for h.pylori a long time ago and it was positive but I never got treatment. Please I need some help, I can't keep living like this.

Hi I’m 22 and have had the same experience for the last 18 months, that pressure deep in your throat. Have to vomit before every meal to try to reduce that pressure. Once I’ve eaten you can feel the pressure build up. I have to try and wait until all the foods digested to vomit again to release the pressure. Tried every diet under the sign, tests you name it. At least I know there’s other people out there with similar problems that doctors can’t seem to put a finger on. Keep grindin fam!!
