Weight lose from depo shot?

i too have the same problem, i am also 21, have been on the depo shot for a week and in that week i have lost weight i wasn't big to start off with (only 103) now im down to 95, i can not afford to lose weight, i'm staying sick since i got the shot and my period has lasted for three months already and i am still on it...

hello, my daughter was on Depo for about 4 yrs. when she got married they wanted a family as soon as possible, so she stopped the depo. within 5 months she had gained about 40 pounds. She stayed off of it anyway, hoping for a baby even though she had gained 100 pounds. After 6 yrs of being off the depo, she finally got pregnant. A yr later once she decided to get back on the shots and she is losing weight quickly. She has lost 60 pounds or so thus far. It's coming off so fast that she is being accused of doing drugs. So yes, I believe it is because of the Depo and it affects everyone differently. I see that you wrote this over a yr ago. Hope you didn't lose too much weight.

ive been on the depo for 3 months now and the first week i was on it i lost 25 pounds. and i eat and eat and eat. idk why i keep loosing weight. im scared. idk what to do

If you've been on your period for 3-months, but only on the shot for a week it, then it isn't related.

Hey ladies. I to am on depo. It is only my fourth day since my first shot and my period has stopped which is awesome because I had my first postpartum period and it went on for two months and was heavy. Not fun at all. But I am noticing that I have a low appetite and I can fix myself a full meal and I can't even finish everything on my plate. Soetimes, like last night i'm not hungry at all. My husband and I are very sure it's the shot. But so far no serious problems for me and no other side effects. I read a little while ago that the depo may cause loss of appetite for women that are between the ages of 20-29. I'm 25 so I'm guessing that's a fact.

I have been on the shot 3 times and every time I lose a good amount of weight about 20-30 pounds in a couple months. Now i have the arm implant I'm working so hard at the gym and eating right and just maintaining ugh I want back on the shot!!!!!

I'm having the exact same issue as you..I was on 2 yrs (size 5/6) then took a break from the shot (size 9/10) got back on it(currently size 7/8). I've asked my doctor about taking breaks to test my theory, but I rather avoid the troubles of an inconsistent period flow. She mentioned that the weight loss could correlate with the bone mass loss, and instructed me to take supplements and triple my calcium/vitamin D intake. So far I've been taking prenatal vitamins and drinking 2% milk with every meal, and it helps with controlling my weight loss. Of course I still eat a lot as I did before..and everyone is different. Hope this helped or at least made you feel like you are not alone!

They said weight gain was more common than weight loss so i guess we're the odd ones! I have been on the shot for about a month and i notice my body looking slimmer (i'm 135 lbs.) my weight does not go up even though i've started eating like i have the munchies. I'm not even hungry i eat so i could look fuller.. before the shot i would have a super clean diet and still have a nice shape, my boyfriend also noticed that i was getting skinnier :/

I am 16 years old I been in Depo for 6 months nd I have been losing weight like crazy I weighted 145 I'm dOwn to 119 i lost all this weight in less than 3 months . I also haven't been bleedin or spottin but it recently came back wit really bad cramps that come out of no where .

I lost about 7 pounds and I've been on the depo shot for almost two months now. I've had mood swings appetite loss and weight loss. Most of my clothes are baggy on me. I try to eat whenever I have the chance but I can't eat it all. Even my favorite foods I've never been able to finish. Plus I've been bleeding for a month straight. Let me tell you it's not fun. I hated it for a week. Let alone a month. I want to get off of it. I started losing weight this past week. Yup. Seven pounds In a week and some change. I feel so weak.

Yeah . I'm 16 and lost 21 pounds . I was 125 pounds ... went on that depo and after 2 injections and 6 months later I a skinny freak that weighs 104 and dropping
Not cool . Depo sucks and my period lasted 3 months
