My 14 year old daughter has had very heavy periods for four years. After a visit to the Gynecologist, the doctor ordered labs. Three days after the visit, my daughter passed out. EKG showed borderline prolong QT with a high of 448. CT scan of her brain was normal.
The labs were done and her progesterone level was 474!
All other hormone levels were fine. A VonWillebrand's screen was 152 with a normal of 150.
We are scheduled to see a Neurologist today and a Cardiologist tomorrow because of the syncope episode. Do we need to worry about PSOD or adrenal gland tumors? What does the extremely high progesterone level indicate?
