Im 29 and Ive had my period for like 2 weeks now. Ive always had regular periods before lasting no longer than 5 days but this one is real weird. Its started slowly excatly when it was due it bleed like a medium normal flow like for 3 days, now its real light almost like spotting. I thought it was finally over yesterday cause I woke up and the blood was gone but last night when I went in the shower I seen it had came back. I have been real stressed/depressed latley from switching jobs, heartbrake, and a big fight with my sister (that is still ongoing) Could stress do this?? Im scared cause it hasn't gone away. Its really weird I've had no cramps or anything either like I usually have. Why is it doing this?

I am so glad that I'm not the only one who's experiencing this. I've been having my period for the past 3 months or 4. I don't remember but it's so frustrating. It would be heavy for 3 or 4 days then just become light again for a few weeks then heavy for about a week and so forth. No weird odors or anything. I've had a history of irregular periods but it seems like it's gotten worse. I am currently 24, no health insurance so I can't go to the doctors.
My mom suggested eating supplements of folic acid--when i eat it, it helps but when I forget it comes back. I recently read up that prolonged periods are caused by increased amount of estrogen, and then i looked up how to get rid of excess estrogen and seems like D-Calcium Glucarate works.

I am 33 years old, had my 1st child 2 years ago. Before that, my period was very irregular (6 months without) plus extremely painful (fainted and went to emergency)! When I was 19, I started taking the pill. It helped in regulating the periods but it also gave me some side affects I didn't want. When I was 23, I tried the injection which stops me from producing eggs and hence stopping my period all together. each needle was only for 3 months and I took 3 needles over 9 months. As I was afraid that my eggs would have problems because of the injections, I decide to stop taking the injections. My next period didn't come until I was 25. Freaked out that I won't get a chance to have babies, I did all kinds of test. all results turned out normal. My doctor advised me to just wait it out, "most women will become regular after having their first child" he said. When I got married at 28, I thought it would be easy to have kids, but after trying for 2 years with no results, my mother told me to try Chinese traditional medicines. Sparing the details, the doctor was able to regulate and "Un-pained" my period from the first month and by the third month I was pregnant. But it hasn't ended yet. As I didn't want to harm the baby, I stopped taking the chinese medication. Had a wonderful birth, beautiful boy that I breastfed till he was self-weaned at 1 year old. That's when the problems appeared again. Although my period doesn't hurt any more, it lasts forever. the longest one was for almost 4 months, has clots, and is heavy some days and light some days. As I am trying for a second child, I went back to the chinese doctor again. He says ..."that the blood clots in my body never left and has built up instead. As my body wants to cleanse itself of the clots (bad blood) it will constantly try to flush it out with bleeding, hence the long periods." He gave me a few different medicines that I am still having.
My husband's version of what the doctor said is as follow "your body is like a toilet. the blood clot is like a big poo that is in the toilet. normally you press the button once, it will go away...but in your case it doesn't, so you are constantly pressing the button. The bad thing here is that because your body doesn't have the normal 28 days to fill up the water(blood) the poo stays there and you become anaemic from the lack of blood."
Anyways, Treatment. The doctor first gives me medication to stop the bleeding . Then gives me medication to increase my blood flow. In time, this should help me flush out all the clots and allow me to have a regular period again.
Finally, hope this may help someone. My suggestion is to go see a chinese doctor with a good reputation as sometimes they are just not good. Personally I went through 5 different doctors before I got to my current doctor. Also, unlike western medication, Chinese herbs take longer to work, so give it some time. But my theory is if I don't see an improvement in one month time I change to another doctor.

Im 20 years old...I started the migraine medication Topamax about 2 to 3 months ago. until then i had had regular periods, timely, just like clock work!!! iv been on birth control for 3 years for a hormone deficiency. my dr said my topamax dosage was low enough that the topamax would not interfere with the hormones in my birth control, thus not affecting my period. but the last 3 months, my period has been either late or early by at least 2 or more days, has been more than my usual 7 days long (currently going on a 10 day streak right now) and has even started for a day or so, stopped and then started again.... WHAT THE HELL?!?!? im freaking out. anyone going through something similar? im sick of it and definitly called my dr... but they, of course, are closed today, so all i can do is sit and wait.
thank you :-)
thank you :-)

I am 21 years old, my period started when I was 13 and it has never been regular. Id go 2 months without one, then I would have one for 2-3 weeks then another 2-3 months would pass before I had another. Now y issue is I've had my period without a break for 6 months now. I have had pap and blood tests, they all came back normal, I am now waiting on a pelvic ultrasound. I was on the depo shot but stopped because it no longer stopped my heavy periods, and the pill did nothing at all but make me gain weight. I was in a car accident 4 years ago and was put on gabapentin to control pain, but have cut myself off of it over the last 4 months. I am not anemic, and I havent changed my diet or my daily routines. Im not having pain, but it is starting to get costly to have a period for 6 months+. I cant have an intimate personal life either, if anyone has any ideas can you please please private message me or send me an email.

hi. I had my menstrual period 17 days ago and until now it didn't stopped. The flow is irregular, sometimes only spots and sometimes it's kinda heavy. I remember I took some pain relievers before my wisdom tooth was pulled out and I also took those after. So, I took pain relievers for 3 days. Before that tooth extraction procedure, I had my period. I wonder if my situation now (non-stop menstruation) has got something to do with the pain relievers and the tooth extraction.

Welcome to the club...I have had two periods a month and prolonged period for about 4 years now. Only 16 days free in between periods. Then the periods are 7-12 days long. Really STINKS! AND I'm onl 44 years old. Personally, I think this "fertle Myrtle's" uterus took it personal that it is disconnected and is revolting.

I have recently come to the end of my first three month course of Cerazette (pill) and a week before I finished I had bleeding it's now been on and off for 10 days and I'm starting to get cramps. I have taken a break from the pill today to see if it will clear up but i know i missed a pill last saturday and now I'm not only concerned about the bleeding but because it is so light is it likely I am pregnant (after actions taking place saturday evening). Can someone please reccomend what to do. Im only 19 and already so stressed with Uni. I really want to get this sorted as soon as possible!! Im really scared.

Hello, I am 22 and have been having my periods for 10 years. The first couple years were regular, but when I was 15 I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Since then I've had periods every 6 months or so. It's been since September since I last had one, but 2 weeks ago I got it and it's been heavy ever since. My stomach and back hurt, and I fall asleep even if I'm not tired. Could anyone help me with this? Or should I go to my GYN to determine what's going on? Or is there a possibility I could be pregnant, considering my fiancé and I have sex 4-5 times a week? ***this post is edited by moderator *** ***

Your problem is minor problem, what cause this was that just recent to the time this began you have eat some food wich do not suitable for you to be eating but this lead to some hormone inbalance the lead to this problem.
