Can I ask a question about schizophrenia? My ex wife turns out to suffer from it. We are not on good terms now and I really don't feel like investing more energy into her and her mental health problems, which I know sounds terrible but she did spend years dragging me down with her. Anyway, I have heard that one of her symptoms is something called formicating. Can you explain what this is?

Formicating refers to the actual sensation of insects or bugs crawling and moving around under the skin of the hallucinating person. While this sounds extremely far fetched to healthy people, this is in fact one of the most common forms of hallucination. It is also known to be drug induced sometimes.
