Generally, vasculitis affects several organ systems and be disabling. Chronic vasculitis affecting branches of the arteries that supply blood to the head is mostly seen in persons older than 50 years, with constant headaches, jaw claudication and even visual disturbances. The most disturbing symptom apart from headache is pain and stiffness in the neck and shoulders.
