My father has been having problems with his heart for three years now and now he suffers from compensated heart insufficiency. As a result of that, his therapy has been changed and he got the new treatment including some new medications, including Spironolactone. What is your experience with that medication, what is its purpose?

Spironolactone is a medication – diuretic used for many conditions and it might be used when dealing with some heart problems. Spironolacton eliminates the water from the organism and in that way lessens the strain on the heart. And it also prevents the loosing of potassium (which many diuretics do not achieve). But it is also a medication that must not be used unless prescribed!
