Hello, folks. I have given a birth recently and my baby was diagnosed Down syndrome. This was my first pregnancy and I was 39 years old at the time. I would like to know what to do with my daughter. I feel lost and I know that I can never cure her. What would you suggest me? Thanks.

Hello. I would suggest counseling for the beginning. Your child will need your strength. You will meet a team of doctors that will take care of your kid. This team might include pediatric cardiologist, developmental pediatrician, gastroenterologist, etc. Ask your doctors whether there are some programs where your daughter could be included. There will be need for speech and occupation therapist. If you start earlier with some programs, it will be better for your kid. I hope I’ve helped a little. Bye!
