Right, i am 16 years of age and have recently undergone a labiaplasty, reason being that i was in so much pain before with it! I was a horse rider, it was my life, i LOVED horses and riding, but there was one thing stopping me, my Labia minora! it rubbed against my underwear, making me sore when i was in the saddle and eventually i had to give up riding because of it! I went to the doctors with my mum and they referred me the hospital where i was then under the care of one of one my mums colleauges; a Gynecologist, Mr Farrag. (Yes my mum works in theatres in the hospital) she knew a lot about this Gynecologist and told me i was lucky to be in his care as he is very careful and always over runs on his list due to traking things steady. Anyway, he told me we could go through with the op, and on Tuesday the 13th of March (Tuesday) I was put to sleep at half one and woke up in recovery at quarter past 2 with my labia minora reduced!
Mr Farrag came upto my room later to check me over and said he was very pleased with how surgery went, he answered all of my questions and told me i'd be back in the saddle in around 3 week! :D
I went home that night, watched Geordie shore, and was really happy.
But it was the second day when the problems hit... I was extremeley swollen! My clitoral hood swollen at both sides, making me look like i had a giant pair of balls dangling down from my vagina, the left side of my labia minora was massively swollen compared to the left side and i was walking like a cowboy, anyway, i rested and ate and drank properly and took Ibuprofen in hope the swelling would go....
Now its my 4th day post.op and im so worried! The swelling is still there but now it's yellow and purple! where my stitches are, there are now yellow/creamy coloured crusty scabs and some are oozing a neon yellowish/orange liquid. I've dabbed the area with a tissue and there is no smell! I have no itching or pain and am still sensitive when the area is touched, is this normal? Are my wounds infected?
I've been dabbing with toilet paper and then baby wipes after everytime i've passed urine, i've been getting a gentle 5 min shower every night with no soap, then after my shower i've been applying my Polyfax cream to the area before taking an Ibuprofen and getting into bed, then through the day ive just been resting....
I'm just worried, when will the swelling go, is everything im going through, normal?
my mum is at work today but i've phoned her and she says she'll have a look when she's home... what should i do?
Any of you guys have any intersting labioplasty experiences?
Thanks xx

If you think you may have some infection you should talk to your doctor about that.
It sounds like you are probably experiencing normal reactions to surgery. Everyone has different reactions to being invaded by a knife.
When I had a vasectomy my scrotum (the equivalent of your labia minora) swelled up so it looked like a black, blue, purple, softball between my legs and it hurt like hell. I also had some puss like stuff oozing out of the incision on one side but the doctor wasn't concerned about that. (Of course not, it wasn't his!!!!)
I think you're doing the right things to care for it so just be patient. I wasn't able to go back to work for about a week and even then it wasn't too comfortable.
With all that trouble after those two little cuts I had down there, I figured I was really in for it many years later when i had a heart bypass. They sawed my chest open, made a foot long slice in my arm to remove an artery and another foot long in my leg to remove a vein to use for splicing material in my chest. I had none of those problems with that healing up so reactions to surgery are certainly different.
Good luck to you.

The best advise is to leave it completely alone, and rest as much as possible for a week. with most women the skin is healed and the swelling has gone down in about 2 weeks. For me it looked almost normal and perfect after two weeks! But I got complications in week 2, which continued a few weeks after that, because i thought i could do what I wanted after he swelling went down. After two weeks, i got a little drunk.. (STUPID, I know!!!!!!!!!). I was very sexually frustrated, so that night when I went to bed I touched my clitoris because (yes, I was drunk and couldn't stop myself). so off course the next day, everything swell up, because blood rushes to your lady parts when you are turned on. So now i was basically back to day 1.. And this time it didn't heal as perfect...
DO NOT do anything to make it swell up again! Do NOT touch your clitoris, get turned on, use a bicycle og even touch it until the stitches are GONE! Because I made mine swell up again by not being careful enough in week 2, it made the stitches dissolve to early, the skin to stretch, and the right labia got a wound were the stitches had been.. Therefore the skin had to grow on its own. It did turn out okay, but i had a lot of pain, and a little scarring that is still noticable. This shouldn't happen!! Just leave it alone, and wash it carefully until the stitches have dissolved. And do not get drunk!
I've red that some people have lost stitched too early, like in the 1st week, but then it probably isnt their fault, either it just swelled up to much or the surgeon did a bad job. And then they would get it redone for free i guess!! But i'm sure that in most cases you are the one who needs to plan the weeks ahead, to prevent any complications! But other than this, i recomend the surgery, if you go to a surgeon who knows what he's doing. I didn't have any pain or complications until I messed it up completely on my own. If you really want to have this surgery, go for it! But I repeat, don't relax even a second before the stitches are completely gone. You need to guard thos ladyparts with your life. Seriously!
Has anyone else experienced swelling up again? If so, Why?
