A couple of days ago, my 11 year old son showed me a very small bump on his penis and said it was itchy. It looked almost like a very small water blister or possibly even a "wart"...
Today, he was complaining it was itching even worse and he didn't want to go to school. Upon inspection, I noticed that the original blister now appeared to have a "scab" on it....but there were two or three other, even smaller water blisters starting around the original one.
I don't believe he is sexually active....and he tells me he is NOT....
I am having trouble getting him to go to the doctors cause he doesn't want anyone "looking at his penis"....
Any idea what this might be and if it warrants a trip to the docs....?

Although I respect his feelings of shyness or embarassment, since when can a mother not overrue her son's objections and take him to the doctor?
He needs to be seen and evaluated. Period.
He doesn't get to debate it. He wants to miss school.
That's not acceptable.

Water blisters in the genital area is the most common symptom of herpes. He needs to be taken to a doctor immediately.
However, that does not necessarily mean it was transmitted through sex, or even if it was, that he is lying. Herpes can be viable for a few hours on toilet seats, towels, toilet paper, etc.; in addition, non-penetrative intercourse with either sex (which he may not realize is sex) can spread the virus.
Get him an appointment with a pediatric doctor or, failing that, a public health nurse.

It sounds like a allergy to something he may have eaten.
Look at his diet, and also at the type of bath soap he's using.

I'm surprised I'm the first one to say this, but there's a good chance he got them from masturbating excessively and without a moisturizer. I'm 16 and this used to happen to me and my friends before we got smarter and started using moisturizer. I would ask him if he masturbates or rubs his penis, and if he does maybe give him moisturizer or tell him not to do it so often.

Sounds like jock itch to me which is the same as athletes foot. Get him some cream at the pharmacy and tell him to have fun applying it to sore areas.

Herpes has NEVER been proven to be transferred from towels or toilet seats. 2/5 of all people have genital herpes. Most of those people use public toilets. If it were transferred from toilet seats don't you think there would be a hell of a lot mote people with it? Do your research before telling this poor mother lies. Jeesh.

My son is only 8 years old. He had scabs and bumps on his penis, my son has been taught from school boys how to masturbate, he did and that's what happened. All you do is take your sons penis and rub a suitable rash cream on his penis. Thank you
