My son had a large amount of big blackheads on his testacles and penis and was complaining that it was very itchy? Can you please tell me what would cause this and how it is best to treat it and prevent it from happening again.

Kim Brock...I know a Kim Brock that lives in Michigan's U.P. anyway, the blackheads should clear up, just keep him very clean, it's obvious he's not as clean as he should be.

settle down there.... it might not be an issue of cleanliness.. i know this sounds strange but it could be a common parasite.. in south texas we call them chiggers but they are more commonly known as scabies.. i think this is the case because of his complaints of itchiness it has nothing to do with cleanliness.. if your little boy like rolling down a grassy hill or even sitting in the sand box or dirt or grass these little bugs crawl up his legs and presto it happens and it's nothing to be ashamed about.. these little buggers like warm moist places and commonly make a little boy's genitals their home... go see your PCP and get some cream for his jewels and he'll be fine.. and let him put the cream on or people will think you are a pervert...

Thats funny because scabies and chiggers are two completely different things and neither of them cause anything that looks similar to a blackhead...

Take your kid to a doctor. Even if its nothing serious, you don't play around with weird looking things on genitalia.

You all should be ashamed of your selves....This is a mother that is concerned about her child, and all you all have done is write stuff about her not cleaning her child properly. That just goes to show asking losers like you for help or suggestions is not the answer....and to the mother sometimes blackheads on young children can be the eye opener to a serious medical problem so yu shouhd have his blood checked by a doctor.....

Chigger and scabies are two entirely different mites. You need to do your homework, doc.

Chigger mites are tiny red mites that can be seen with the naked eye, and go for tight places like waist and legbands, skin folds, etc. They can be caught from sitting in the grass, walking through weeds, and your pets can bring them in and get them on the furniture. Experienced that, too. They can bite, then move on and bite again several times before dying. They leave small, intensly itchy, red bumps.

Scabie mites cannot be seen with the naked eye. They burrow tunnels under the skin, which can be seen, and can cause long lines of intensly itchy skin. They are passed from human to human, and can even be caught from toilet seats (and I assume other "resting" areas). They require medicine from the clinic to kill them. They have lines of red skin.

Both can lead to secondary infection, if scratched. Neither of these mites resemble anything like the blackheads this mother is talking about. For you to insinuate she would be thought a pervert was way out of line, because at that age, she would have to at least show her son how to apply a cream -- even if she applied it to the back of her hand.
