two days ago my daughter woke up with a a small patch of hives like patches under eyes on both sides of her nose. I cleaned the area with hydrogen peroxide and creamed it with Nixoderm. 3 hours later after dropping her off to school, the school personnel and nurse was calling that my daughter was in the clinic crying about her face burning and stinging. I mention the hydrogen peroxide, that when i applied it to the area she said it was stinging but that was a normal reaction to the disinfectant. The nurse had her to rinse with water and another staff member took her to the cafeteria for a MILK bath.. she went back to class. One hour later, they were calling again. still complaining of the stinging. i spoke with my daughter and encouraged her to rinse throughly with cold water. when i did pick her up at the end of school, her face including her forehead had more hives. her face seemed a little swollen but not severe. i went to get Benadryl but the shelf was bare. I purchased a generic brand "Up/UP"... gave her 2 pills of course it made her drowsy. The next morning she woke up her face was quite swollen including her lips. I'm began to freek in disbelief. I took the Up-Up back to the store in search of the Benadryl as I felt it may not be as effective as the Benadryl. I went to Walgreens and purchased the Benadryl and Caldryl a lotion for itching. I gave my daughter the 2 pills of the Benadryl aroud 5pm yesterday with a glass of Cranberry juice. Lotion her face and she went off to sleep. When she woke up at 10pm, there was not much change and under her eye appeared to be "bags". I did not give her anymore of the drugs. I started giving her water, to try anything, including flushing her system. I'm at wits end right now. I don't know what to do. I'm litterally breaking down, because we have no health insurance and I don't know how to fix this. 5 days before while visiting a friend, my daughter was biten up by mosquitos, of which she welped up right away, but they went away. 12 hours prior to the morning of the alarm, she had a corndog, garlic toast and a crispy cream donut. For lunch the next day, she had pizza and Yoo-Hoo chocolate milk.... I'm not sure how to fix this without having to be in debt to the hospital so I'm asking for some help here.
