well the pain may be due to you not being properly aroused, vaginismus (tightening up with anxiety), some of your hymen remaining or a number of other problems. i'd bank on it being one of the first 3. this is presuming that by uncomfortable you meant painful as some women may find the sensation of sex uncomfortable but not painful.
