Hi, I am 19 and I have had several symptoms for about 3 years now, I also learned about Diabetes in my Culinary class in College last year It was then I realized I had many symptoms related to type 2 Diabetes they include.

1. Fairly tired some days and oversleep. 10-12 hours
2. Blurred vision, definitely has progressively gotten worse I have not yet went to an eye doctor yet though. Still not to bad though
3. Whenever I drink anything I usually have to urinate right away or at least within an hour.
4. Whenever I consume sugar my urine becomes thicker (Almost like soup in the toilet)
5. Whenever I drink a pop I sometimes get headaches, I also get headaches in the mornings fairly often. (More recent though)
6. My fingers tingle when I hold them straight.
7. Legs and sometimes arms get really sore when i work long shifts (Also seems like this only happens when I drink pop)
8. Weight Gain I'm 19 5"9 and way 160 Pounds.

In conclusion I think about last year I told my Mom that I think I have diabetes it was kinda awkward I told her a few of my symptoms and asked if I should see a doctor and she said, Those are just symptoms of you getting older. She is a great person really supportive and raised me perfectly. No one in both sides of my family have been diagnosed with Diabetes also. Although I moved away from home to Toronto for college and don't know any local doctors and have been living with these symptoms for about 3 years now and it has not complicated things, I have cut back in sugar and started working out, I eat all fruits and vegetables and drink water and the Urine symptoms aren't there along with the headaches unless I have a lot of sugar.

Sorry for the long post, but what I want to ask you is do i have type 2 diabetes, If so can I continue on with my life with it undiagnosed by continuing to eat healthy / exercising. I learned about the problems caused by type 2 in class being Key tones building up and going to your brain and eventually becoming toxic resulting in comma / death. But I don't feel my symptoms to be that serious? Will this be a problem etc? is there other further complications? Looking forward to responses.

While your list does cover some of the symptoms of diabetes, unless you have advanced diabetes, I wouldn't expect you to exhibit neuropathy (tingling in you fingers) or blurred vision. Your weight is not disproportionate to your age or height. The thing that concerns me is the thick urine. This is a symptom I have never heard of in diabetics. If you are certain it is actually thicker, that would be alarming enough for me to see a physician, diabetes or not.
