Hi Kiran! Gallbladder polyps are in the great majority benign. Around 90-95% of gallbladder polyps are benignant. The most of them are cholesterol polyps. Normally cholesterol polyps are less than 5mm. Malignant lesions are normally bigger and single lesions . There are other aspects that you can see in the echography that speaks in favor of a benignant lesion, you may want to ask your doctor about it.Tthe treatment can be different according to your doctor's opinion. Most of them decides to do a follow-up echography after 3-6 months to see if there's a significant growth. Don’t worry and follow the recommendations from your doctor.

Hi there. Generally, the gallbladder tumors are recognized with increasing frequency and that means that they can be recognized as a consequence of improvements in imaging techniques and increased utilization of these studies. The statistics are showing that approximately 5% of patients evaluated with ultrasonography for abdominal pain will have a gallbladder polyps. Well, cancer of the gallbladder is uncommon, though it is the fifth most common gastrointestinal (GI) malignancy. But that doesn't have to mean anything. You really should talk to your doctor more often about this and you should ask for some advice, etc. You should never let this go on its way, alone, without controlling it.
