I have a sausage shaped abdominal mass in the lower right quardrent of my abdomen over where my colon is located. I have had it for about a year now and I always just thought it was a hernia. My Obgyn said it was probably a hernia and not to worry about it unless it starts bothering me. Well it started to ache and I had some horrible cramping when I have a BM. So I called my OB and she referred me to a surgeon - I went and saw him last week and he told me it was not a hernia (it is not located where a hernia would be), it was probably just some stool stuck in my colon. I think he thought I was stupid or something and the fact that I don't have health insurance - he doesn't want to help me. I don't think he believes me that it has been there for a year now. There is no way stool would be stuck in my colon for a year now.
After researching this on the internet - I am worried that this may be some type of a colon problem. The symptoms I have are - sausage shaped mass, cramping, aching in area of mass, and all over back pain. The cramping can get pretty bad. Maybe once a week - when I have to go BM; I wil be fine one minute not even thinking I have to go and then I am barrelled over in pain running to the bathroom the next minute. One time about a month ago - I was sleeping and I woke up at 5 am with horrible cramps and I had to run to bathroom thinking I had to go BM. When I sat on the toilet I was constipated and in horrible pain. After a few minutes I felt very dizzy and I felt like I was going to vomit - the next thing I knew I was on the floor (I had fainted). After that I was fine and able to go to the bathroom but instead of my stool being hard like I was constipated it was very loose.
I am very worried about this - my docs don't want to take me seriously since I am young (28) and I look healthy (thin), but I do have colon problems in the family and I eat horribly!! Very fatty diet - basically I live on french fries and potatoe chips. I'm worried - and I want to know what this could possibly be....

Guest I had the same symptoms. I had a surgery 2 weeks ago to remove a tumor, but now I feel great .

You need colonoscopy as soon as possible to rule out anything more serious.
