Hello, I need to know something more about diseases that can be related to abnormal ekg. Does it have to be dangerous or sometimes it is not? My mother is 55 years old and a week ago she had routine control at her physician’s. Her ekg has shown some abnormalities. Especially in the last part of ST wave. I’m worried if it is something serious.

ST segment if elevated or lowered may mean that heart muscle is damaged or insufficient in blood flow, which means that heart does not receive enough blood. It can be associated with condition of blood vessels, arteries especially. As I know, elevated ST segment of the pqrst wave sometimes may be the symptom of pericarditis or myocarditis. I would not like to scare you, because this is only the theory, and in practice the things can be different. I believe that more exams are needed to be done for making the final diagnosis.
