My 63-year old mother went to the emergency room with pain under her right breast and in her right shoulder blade. She also complained that her arms felt paralyzed when she woke up, though it didn't last. All tests (blood tests, chest x-ray and CT, EKG) came back normal except for slightly elevated CPK levels. Doctors, including the hospital cardiologist, cannot determine the cause of her pain or explaing the elevated CPK levels. She has several conditions for which she takes medication (fibromyalgia, depression, etc.). Is there anything other than a heart attack or fall that would elevate CPK? Could any of her medications interfere with the results. Where should we go from here?

Thanks for your help.
