Hello. I am addressing you in a hope that you could clear up some things to me. I am concerned for my husband. He is 25 years old and under accutane therapy for almost three weeks now. But his skin is not getting better, it looks worse then before – accutane does not seem to be working!

You must understand that one of the effects accutane has is slowing down the process of healing of the superficial skin. Therefore, during the treatment, there might be a situation in which his skin looks even more damaged then before the treatment. This happened to a lot of patients, but after a while, while therapy is nearing the end, skin will also look much better and better.
