ever since i "joined" the world of allergies everybody is talkin about antihistamines. I mean, what is so special aabout them? In what way do they help my symptoms? My friend tells me i should be drinking them whenever i feel any symptoms that might be cause by allergies. But i read the instructions and it says that i should not be driving if i am on these?
Which of this is true? Is there anyone else taking them?

Histamines are our bodies natural response to allergens. Antihistamines block that response. Typical symptoms of allergic reaction would be runny nose, itching, watery eyes. Yes, benedryl can make you drowsy and dopey, not everybody has that response, but claratin and zyrtec don't have the drowsy effect, generally speaking. So there are a lot of options to treat allergies. Find what works for you and stick to it.
