Hi Laura, Martha here from Manila.

We've been off the pill almost the same time.. I'm off 2 months and a half as of today. It has been a scary and frustrating ride and I also can't believe that this issue is so hidden because it affects women from around the world. I was going crazy before I found this thread.. i never knew stopping the pill will cause such misery!

We almost have the same symptoms.. i also have this feeling of head pressure that makes me feel so imbalanced dizzy and nauseous. now on my way to finishing the 3rd month mark i had a very few good days. It has been 10 bad days so far. Sometimes making me question if this is really the pill doing this. The Physical anxiety makes me paranoid and scared.

You're right it's hard to make others understand what we are going through exactly because i always hear them say "its all in your head"...

Thanks for sharing your story Laura. I also want to join the movement! Let me know how we can start it and I'm in.

Praying for all of us..

Hope123 it's so annoying how they just dismiss the whole idea of birth control doing this to us.

has anyone tried Natural progestorone cream and if so do you recommend one. I was told my estrogen is too high and progestorone is low compare to my estrogen (estrogen dominance). Before taking bioidentical progestorone pills I was thinking of going to the natural progestorone cream, exercise and vegan diet first

Hello everyone. I have had the same issue. I have been off of birth control now for about 2 1/2 months. I went to the doctor for a preconception meeting on Oct 31st and actually ended up passing out. I quit birth control shortly after. At first I thought something was severely wrong with me when I started having anxiety about going out in public and even at work. I also thought maybe passing out at the doctors office triggered something. After seeing this forum about 2 months ago I felt so much better knowing I wasn’t going crazy. I emailed my doctor and told her I thought the anxiety was happening because of going off BC. She said it could take up to 3 months for hormones to get back to normal. She offered me anxiety medication, but I decided to hold off because we were planning on becoming pregnant. Some weeks are better than others. I am severely scared to go to a doctor. I feel that is what I have anxiety about the most. I was fine with doctors before, but always did horrible if I had to have shots or blood drawn. I am now pregnant. Probably about 2-3 weeks and am so anxious about going. Does anyone know if you can start anxiety medication while pregnant. I don’t want to be on something regular but only when I feel I need it. I even get anxious about going to my chiropractor. My pulse starts to increase and I get very nervous. After I’m there for a while I start to calm down. I’m just so sick of feeling this way and always wanting to stay home. I often feel like I’m going to pass out from the feeling of my anxiety. I have now passed out twice since visiting the doctor. I believe my anxiety is the culprit. Just know that it does get better. I feel better than I did before, but the anxiety is still there and I am always on guard. I am hoping with being pregnant now it does not get worse. Thanks ladies for the encouragement that it does get better. :)

Martha- id love to keep in touch but I don’t really want to post my full information on here...there are too many creepers ha!

I’m feeling a lot better this past week. Started yoga and working out again. The anxiety and depression is really going away and I can feel my body going back to normal slowly.

How long were you on birth control for before stopping ? I was only on it for 4 months.

Hang in there! Ladies it gets better! I used to be a crazy person too ! It gets better !!

Hey Britanny its nice hearing from you :)
So happy to hear you're getting yourself back from this nightmare. I will continuously pray for you.

Oh i took that horrible pill for almost 6 years! I know its all done now but i regret that day i took that thing!

I can feel improvements with my physical symptoms and I know since ive been on it for a long time it might take some more time for me to get rid of it.. i just really hate it when I get setbacks.

Yeah it's hard to post our personal info here lol. I wonder how we can go about doing it. Anyways, we'll talk here from time to time to update :)

Martha- I have been thinking of you and hoping you weren't on it too long. Think of it this way, at least your body let you go that long before seeing symptoms. Mine couldn't handle it ha.

Anyways please keep resting and distracting yourself with anything you can. I can't say it enough. Family and friends help too...not sure if you have any friends out there that have gone thru anything similar. Always helps to chat with others. Many of my friends compare it to menopause. I am 28 so thats crazy to think about! At least now we have a taste of what to expect down the road :) gotta make a joke when I can. Many prayers your way my friend...

Britanny - i have one friend who went through almost similar thing back in 2014 (she's a nurse). Took her a year to get her life back.. she took the pill for her PCOS but unfortunately it did not work out for her. I talk to her from time to time most especially on setback days.

I know! My friend who went through this said its like first trimester of pregnancy combined with menopause and post partum depression.

Good thing for you though it didnt affect you much physically because you can still go to work and all.. would have been nice if I am the same way.

How's work and everything out there in Chicago?

Martha- you're going to get better! I know it...patience

Chicago is cold :) and it didn't help that the groundhog saw his shadow (if you're familiar with that silly tradition in the US). This means we should expect 6 more weeks of winter. I am hoping it warms up soon. It is on my bucket list to make it to the Philippines one day. Looks gorgeous there! You must love living there. One of my close friends is Filipino and she visits family every now and again...her pictures make me drool!

Thanks for the encouragement Britanny i need it atm :) Been feeling fatigued and drowsy - slight cramping..probably because PMS? I hope my period comes soon. Do you also feel this way nearing your period?

It must be hard waking up in the morning when it's that cold lol. When i lived in San Francisco for 6 years to study i dread waking up in the morning because its always cold there haha.

Definitely visit Philippines! You will love the beaches here for sure :) Although sometimes it gets too hot over here lol.

I’m so thankful that there are still people posting on this site. I was only on bc for three months but I stopped taking it because I could feel it negatively impacting my moods. I never knew that stopping would cause such severe anxiety and sometimes depression.

I’ve been off for about a month and a half now and the anxiety is not nearly as bad as it was. No panic attacks in weeks. So thinking back on how bad it was and where I am now makes me feel better. But some days I have a hard time shaking the weird mental fog I’m in that makes me feel completely blah.

I hope you ladies are doing well.

It's Laura here! Doing so well! It has been 2.5 months and I believe that my healthy life style has really helped me to recover. I'm still not optimal self, but definitely seen the light at the end of the tunnel :)

Be strong and take care of your body! Then your body can help the mind...

Hi! I'm wondering if you did go back on your birth control and if it helped you? I went back on mine three weeks ago and still am having difficulty.
