SO I started spotting about a week ago...I was suppose to get my period on the 10 this month, but like always I'm late. I've never had a regular, on schedule menstrual cycle. My last period didn't exactly do the same thing, but just came full on, but was late by about a week also. I also recently had an abortion about almost 4 months ago now, but had regular period afterwards, but I can't explain these symptoms. Okay, so it started out with a little bit of spotting of old brown blood, then it started getting a mix of brownish pink, then eventually pink, but almost non exsistant. It went like this the first couple days, then turned to full on red blood. The it stopped, went to pink again, but almost non exsistant like I said, but today, I've been spotting normal blood. If I'm on or getting my period, why so many days of spotting, and late period symtoms. I have heard that if you have a lot of sex before getting ur period, that could delay it, also stress, which I seem to have a lot of sometimes. But just before, not even an hour ago. I went to use the bathroom, and I wiped, and this little tiny, not even an inch long stringy peice of tissue came out. Not to sound gross, but I examined it, and it seemed kinda elastic like. And it wasn't just that weird jelly like discharge, it was an actually peice of tissue...and it kinda scared me, and was especially gross, but has anyone had this before, I've read post of the same thing on here before, but has anyone ever gone to the doctor and found out what was up with it? Could I be having a miscarraige? I don't feel any different. I haven't had any pain. Nothing. I feel normal. Someone please help me out with this. It would be greatly appriciated, and please no comments saying I think you should go to the doctor. I know I probably do. Please inquire about my questions. This is serious. Thank you.

My first questions are if you use birth control and/or condoms as protection from pregnancy. Maybe you have a history of internal pelvic cysts or you do have a lot of sex, or maybe both, then that can cause some cr@zy things to happen to a woman's reproductive "environment", including weird bloody or yellow-colored discharge. Perhaps your period was off by a few days and prior to that sometimes clumpy discharge occurs. In the case of a miscarriage, the discharge can contain peices of natal/pre-birth tissue being dispensed out of the body. However I do believe if you were far enough along in a pregnancy for a miscarriage to occur, you would probably know you were pregnant (be more than a month in , especially if your menstrual cycle was last within 30 days), considering no contraceptives have been involved. If you suspect you were pregnant you can get an ultrasound scan. That's the best way to spot a miscarriage, costing an uninsured patient several hundred dollars.
