I had a subdural hematoma and for a few days I thought I was ok. I was having headaches which were rare prior to this. I had a head injury after falling and it took two months for my bleeds to develop I had repeated trips to the ER for massive headaches and finally on December 20 I had to go to the ER for uncontrollable pain they did an MRI immediately and I became unconscious and had seizures as a result they operated using the burr hole procedure draining the blood and I spent eight days in the hospital released on December 29 and put on strict bed rest for five days with restriction on physical activity for six weeks I have daily headaches and loss of balance however I’m slowly recovering I am now in my fourth week since the Operation And I expect a full recovery in a couple more weeks

I had one last year Dec 2017. Hell of an experience. woke up at midnight dizzy from the anesthesia. That was the one of the toughest moments. I had a turban on my head and two tubes for fluid. She will be given a lot of medication antibiotics, maybe some seizure prevention drugs like Kepra or Vimpat they suck but help till brain recovers. She will need lots of patience and be reassure that everything will be ok. She will feel weak for a while sometimes months. Sometimes, normal things like watching tv or the urge to go to the bathroom, will make her dizzy. Had acute subdural hematoma about 7 weeks ago. Slow physical leg strength recovery. Have odd crawly feelings near my incision and get pressure behind my right eye near where the hematoma was if I get stressed. Also, get minor headaches/pain if I exercise too hard or stressed, but rest alleviates. Follow-up scan still showed a bit of fluid left over and they said brain should absorb. A bit unnerving, but not much to do. I just know what symptoms are for the subdural hematoma and won't hesitate to get to the ER!! P.S. Hit my head moderately on something and within 7 hours, could barely walk. Was also on anticoagulants as I am heart patient, which can make you bleed a lot easier. So, no more anticogulants,,,, hoping for the best

I am a man 51 years old. Did double burr hole surgery in Jan 2019 for subd hematoma. I hit my head on a kitchen granite top in Sept 2018. Since then I had severe headache, confused with a sinusitis by doctors, until I did a CT scan. I had also pain in my neck and lower shoulders confused with muscle tension by doctors. 2 months after surgery I returned to work part time and worked also from home. I was sleepless (1-2 hrs sleep per day) for 2 months after surgery and no pill could help and doctors did not give explanations. Later on I used Zopiclone 7 mg which helped to get 4 hrs sleep, and then stopped it to avoid dependence.. Now 8 months after surgery I sleep 4 to 5 hrs maximum per night. I go to work but I feel extreme fatigue in the afternoon. No headaches. I did not yet resume my physical activities. I only do walks and still feel some pressure in the head when I try to jog. I still have liquid accumulations in the brain and they follow me with regular CT scans for reabsorption . It is frustrating to see that I can not resume yet my soccer games on week ends and regular joggings: I was very active a year ago. I hope that in few months my condition will improve to the 100 % mark as now I am more in the 75 % recovery zone. If you had sub hematoma surgery, please share your recovery experience with good or bad outcomes. Thanks.

I had it 5 years ago, air lifted to trauma hospital. After 3 days they sent me home, did nothing, that night back into hospital in different, next day operated on, five days later another operation. Quick healer but lost almost forty years of memory in different areas of life. Twenty-five years of computer knowledge in a specific area, virus control gone. For a year and a half I spent 16 hours a day to recoup my business knowledge. Still forget simple things and/or words to complete a sentence. Nobody believes me, like my own daughter. Had to quit work.
