Ascend Methadone Won't Control Pain

Omg the same thing here! I have been on methadone for almost 20 years, I prefer the Roxanne/Westwood Brand but will take Mallinkrodt. I was given the Ascend brand and it is awful! It does not work well and I am so sick from it, esp the nausea. There is something very wrong with this brand!

you're right probably no pharmacy will have 840 10mg tablets in stock....you have to take your actual hardcopy prescription to the pharmacy and they can order that amount for you and have it within 3-4 business days. Also pharmacies do have liquid methadone that come in 1000ML (1 Litre) with each 10 mg methadone per ML so those contain 10,000mg, and you take 8400mg total at this time at least....you could get the syrup easier probably at 280mg/day.get a taxi an uber whatever it takes to drop that off and get if filled. I am prescribed 300 10mg month and have a hardass time finding them sometimes, the ASCEND ASC 116 Methadone 10mg pills are total sh*t I hate them....the best Imo are the Aurobindo U42 10mg are the strongest and most effective only a little more than the Roxanne brand which I haven't gotten in like 3 years and then the Mallinckrodt rectangles. I get it 20 10mg oxy even on 130mg which I'm on right now from dental sh*t 20 wouldn't do a thing

Ditto, on day 10 i also started feeling sick and have had almost no relief from pain, i have been on this medication due to the damage from the chemical AGENT ORANGE it has caused the cessation to synovial fluid manufacture in my body, causing the dessication of all my spinal discs, both knee's, i had artificial joints put in my hands to try and keep my pain release practice growing and the incidental miseries this has caused is almost unbelievable if it wasn't me going through it..As a Myotherapist i worked hand in hand with the pain specialists in my area, each had me work on their toughest patients, until i became my own toughest patient thanks to the Corporate lobby system, AGENT ORANGE is the prefered weed control of commercial farms across the state selling across the country and school lunch programs,.But i'm here to attest that the ASCEND brand of METHADONE would surprise me if they found any of METHADONES active ingredients in it, I am opioid resistant thanks to the chemical change the 2,4D (AGENT ORANGE)did to me, it took almost 2 full years of trial & error to find something to get me out of the wheelchair and have the ability to restart my rehab , nothing worked, even Fentynal was as good as a sugar pill until my pain MD tried methadone, it was as if a switch was flipped and within a week was out of my wheelchair for longer stints as i spent more time in the pool, now i am going backwards with this ASCEND brand of Methadone... I RATE THIS MEDICATION ... NEGATIVE 5 OR, - 5 STARS, i again doubt there is any of METHADONES true ingredients, .Just a post fact WALGREENS switched to this brand when they were busted by the DEA for selling opioid s to doctor feel goods off the books somewhere in the neighborhood of 2012, when they made a special deal with the DEA to wean itself of pain patients by way of a program that sounded patiently friendly but in truth was the pharmacy lying to the patients by continuously telling them their medication delivery is still not here yet, this went on until the patient got so disgusted they went to another pharmacy to allieve their pain, DEA= 1 PAIN PATIENTS=[0 WALGREEN'S SHOULD BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS SINCE THE SO CALLED OPIOID EPIDEMIC IS ONLY POSSIBLE FROM EITHER GETTING FAKE PRESCRIPTIONS, OR FROM STEALING THEM FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS A PRESCRIPTION, THIS MED IS NOT MADE IN BACK ROOM LABS AND BATHTUBS

You are an amazing person and give me strength to go on. I too experience severe nerve pain but after hearing your story I know it’s not as bad as yours. 4 years ago I developed severe severe nerve pain all over my entire face and it affects my eye lids, eye balls, lips and gums. They burn and sting constantly, 24-7. I am never out of pain. I can barely eat as I need to have my food blended. I had to quit my job working in the psych field and move back in with family. I am on methadone but with the new laws in my state (MA) the limit pain doctors can prescribe is 30mg of methadone or 90 mg morphine equivalents. Actually the max is 25mg but the doctor can write a letter stating that the patient needs the extra 5mg. I wish I was able to get more as I’m not productive as all. Before the methadone I was forced to try tons and tons of non narcotics all which did not work. Finally I was offered the methadone which definitely helped but my pain never gets lower than a 5-6. Are you still getting that dose of methadone or have the new federal limits affected NY yet? It’s so not fair to take pain meds away from patients who need it. I feel like if I was given a little more I would be able to be more active, to leave my house and actually do things. But I basically stay in my house all the time and during the winter I can’t really go out at all bc the cold makes my pain horribly worse. I often times feel useless and I am 39 years old. But your story gives me strength— I hope you are doing ok.

This brand is horrible. Ascend 10 mg

They are not the same. Big difference and they are not as effective. It is well known by many that this brand is weaker. I was shocked when I tried them. Never again!

I've been on malinkrodt for 20 years. The last 6 months they changed and got weaker. Also became harder to get in stock. This month they did not arrive. Pharmacy gave me ascend. I took 40 MG, half my dose. 30 min later I felt like my head was being split open by clamps . Id rather have been punched in the face 10 times than felt the agony of that debilitating migraine. I also felt nauseous. I don't know what to do. I cannot survive the month. Please never take this brand. It is messed up in a serious way. If you want misery, swallow these. I can't believe how bad these are making me feel. This is insane and messed up to the highest level.
