bacterial vaginosis cant get rid of it!!!!!

The male introduces bacteria into the female causing his bacteria to take over inside of her. Maybe this is why it did not re-occur with a condem but did when un-protected. One friend suggested that the man and woman take antibiotics together in order to kill that particular bacteria. But then I read somewhere else that the man does not need to be treated. One thing you can do it to eat yogurt with live cultures. That will help the natural flora return.

Yes baking soda will cure it no need to take all these crazy meds :) 

It could be that you are bathing to throughly, and cleaning all of the good bacteria out. Try soaking in baking soda for awhile and the ph will get back to normal.

Hey i was wondering if hormones can cause bv and if bv can cause a dull ache or annoyance doen there i had a pap smear done she said she didnt see anything and that maybe its a hormone problem and perscribed me birthcontrol patch?

Like everyone on all these sites looking for a cure for BV, I was as well. Im 27 and have been dealing with this problem forever. I have tried everything....and I mean everything! As Im sure a lot of you ladies have. I came across someone talking about pills that help...so me being me I decided to once again try somthing new.

At the time i had BV, so I took the meds from the doc and also started taking these (   NATURE'S WAY, Primadophilus Reuteri Pearls - 60 ct ) I knew that after my meds were gone it was just a matter of time before it came back. So I have been taking these tiny little pills and have been waiting for the BV to return. Its been a few months now and I have NOT had any symptoms! Im beyond suprised. LADIES if you have tried everything like me PLEASE try these pills.

I know its very frustrating looking for new things to try to get rid of this problem, they have worked for me. Maybe it will work for you. I hope that someone trys and finds this helpful. I think you can find them at walgreens, I ordered mine through amazon. Good luck to you all!

After 9 years of suffering from recurring Bacterial Vaginosis (also known as BV and Bacterial Infection) once per month and sometimes every 2 weeks I have been free for 1 year so far and haven't had to take Flagyl or Metrogel since finding it.

Hello. My name is Lynn and I have some information for you on this topic, BV. I am 36 years old and I have experienced this bacteria infection more than I would like to say. BV is a very tricky infection, in such a way that you may have it but it's not showing up on test results. After several times of contacting BV, I immediately would know if I got it again. So being I have senoirity with my doctor due to having BV, she would listen to my own diagnosis and write me a prescription. Usually it was either the insert gel or the pills (flagyl). The pills are discusting! They always make me nauseated so I woould wrap them in bread before I took them.

Back to the information....my doctor and I talk openly. Any and every thing goes in the room. She always explains my diagnosis in detail. And that is exactly how I prefer it. She told me that BV comes from having unprotected sex with a partner who is carrying the bacteria (overload) around. In most cases, men may not have any symptoms. Those who do have symptoms, they are usually similar to those of a woman; fishy smell and discharge. BV is transferred from one partner to the next if protection is not used. Bacteria is in every one yet it is very different. My bacteria is different than yours and vise-versa. So when a man sleeps with one woman (unprotected) and then sleeps with another (unprotected), these strangers (bacteria) begin to try and make friends but it is actually too much and then the bacteria (yours) is overtaken by the foreign (strangers). That produces the BV, the aweful smell.

Yes it is treatable. Wal-mart, Walgreens, CVS, etc. sell products to eliminate the infection alltogether and other products to help with maintaining healthy bacteria. These stores also sell a test which will test you for BV and a yeast infection. Unless, you are a seasoned BV victim, I highly reccomend that you seek professional advice.

So, here is some advice for you ladies....when you get treated for BV please make sure your partner does to. If not, you will contine to contract BV. Once you're both treated and then you contract BV again, well you should know, he is a cheater. You definitely do not want to be involved with a man who does not respect you enough to remain faithful or to put on a condom when he does cheat.

Thank you for your response regarding this matter. Everything everyone stated is exactly what I have been experiencing on and off for the last 10 months. It is very embarassing I can smell it through my clothing and I fear other people can smell it as well. I have been with my bf for about 2 yrs and started experiencing bv last summer, I was treated as soon as I started experiencing the odor and discharge it went away and it came back again. I keep treating it and everytime we have sex it comes back, this is very annoying and I will try what some of these ladies suggested as far as introducing probiotics in my diet but I would like to know how or what can a man do to treat bv. Most Doctors don't believe men have bv so how can my bf be treated to get rid of this bacteria.

Lynn, Hi. Will you explain how a man should be treated for this.  My boyfriend and I both took Metronidazole  and I'm still having problems after we have sex.  Is there any natural remedies for men?

I also have this freaking horrible thing called BV! Except my worse symptoms are the itching and discharge. I don't really experience the fishy smell but I do have an odor there that I don't think is suppose to be there. I've had issues with yeast infections and BV for about 3 years now. I can't believe it's already been that long! I read one of those books that says it can cute BV in three days. I'm surprised no one else had ever put those book remedies on blast! I hate those books bc they make you pay for that c**p, why can't they just come out and tell us what the hell the remedy is!! Well I bought and read the book called "Permanently Beat Bacterial Vaginosis" by Caroline D Greene. At the very end of the book it finally says the remedy. It is 1/4 cup of 3%hydrogen peroxide mixed with 1/4cup DISTILLED water. Using a douche applicator insert the mixture inside your vagina. Lay on your back in the tub with your knees and butt kind of upward so the mixture won't immediately leak out, although it will come right back out anyways. Wait about 5 mins and rinse with just the distilled water and repeat the mixture again. It says to do the mixture twice a day for three days. If its still there the do for two more days. The book also talks about all the eating habits and folic acid and those probiotic pills as well. I'm on day three of the remedy and I have seen a change in the odor and a change in the discharge. But I have not had relief from the itching, but I'm staying hopeful. I am only practicing the probiotic pills and the mixture however. I haven't really changed my diet at all. So I will see how this works for me!

I just wanted to share that from the book, bc I'm so frustrated that the people with the "3day cure" would make up buy it!! Just tell us, we are miserable here!!!

OK HERE IS THE SOLUTION FOR UR PROBLEM. EXCUSE MY ENGLISH. LOL. I HAD BV FOR 3 YRS AND FINALLY I FOUND THE ANSWER... "ALOE VERA" YES aloe vera it is. Take the clear stuff from the inside, take a big piece n just inserted inside ur vjj at nite leave it all nite. N the morning take it out take a shower wash inside , then do oxygen peroxide and water 1/2 douche the insert another big piece of aloe vera inside ur vjj do it for a week then go to the dr to get test it again. But men do carry bv, to fix that u must drink the aloe vera 3x a day for 5 days and put some of the aloe vera gel n his thing as many times as he wants Try no to have sex while u doing that.
