I took prescribed 50mg Tramadol for hip pain at 08.00 this morning. At first I was fine and it helped slightly I didn't have any breakfast, just took the tablet with a glass of water (good job I didn't) . At 12.00 noon,, I was being sick in a public car park having started to feel very unwell, achy, detached, nauseas, pain in my shoulders , dizziness and headache. I decided to go home immediately and just got in the door when I was sick again. So far these symptoms persist after 12 hours. I have been sick 5 times and have had to lie down for the whole of the afternoon and evening. I have not eaten or had a drink, even water since yesterday evening, I've just tried a sip of water and think I will be sick again. I will never take this drug again and all of the prescription is going back to the chemist ( I live in the u.k)

UPDATE - It's now 26 hours since I took the "Devils medicine". I have stopped being sick and generally slept ok. I still, have a bit of a muggy head and have only drunk 1/2 cup of boiled water. I have just had a piece of dry toast as I have not eaten in nearly 48 hours. I hope that's the end of it !!

I took tramadokl 50hcl cple weeks ago no problem. Really didn't help. But this week my doctor said try again which I did. Yesterday abt 4 hours after taking became nauseous. Took another dose today and started vomiting, became dizzy, sweating, chills and heart started feeling funny How is it possible that I had no reaction last time but this time so bad. Addl info--unable to take codeine or Percocet cause same problem which is why doctors have been giving me tramadol

The shakiness and dizziness may simply be hypoglycemia. Get some carbs in you (rice/juice) and the symptoms should resolve

I'm scared I'm permanently damaged too, I'm on day 3 after taking the tramadol and having and adverse reaction to it and it feels like a have the worst flu. Terrible headache, chills, body aches, weakness, nausea, diarrhea. About 2 hours after I took the tramadol 3 days ago I even ended up calling 911, I wanted to call poison control but this stupid medication had me so high all I could do was call 911. I for some reason refused to go with them when they got to my house and after that I don't remember the entire day. All I remember is being too dizzy to move, trying not to puke, headache, diarrhea, and my eyes and mouth being so dry that I drank 5 bottles of water but didn't pee for 8 hours until the high started to wear off I thought I was dying. My vision was blurred and still is I think I'm permanently damaged my head hurts so bad and I can't think straight.

I took a 200 mg Tramadol that my husband had for some nerve pain in my face. I cannot take opioids. Didnt know I would be out of commission for 2 days. I took it at 11 at night and went to bed. Woke up at 8 am yesterday on mothers day puking, sweating and unable to walk around. I couldnt eat anything and was still puking at 7pm! Had to call Teledoc bc I could not get out of bed. They called in Zofran and omeprazol, and 2 hrs later i finally had relief. Today my back is in a lot of pain and I am still weak with the sweats. NEVER AGAIN!

My GP gave me tramadol knowing or should have known that I was prescribed phenelzine. I am a retired psychiatric nurse and was a bit concerned about this. However trusted my GP .I should have went with my own knowledge. She nearly killed me. I had tremor hallucinations felt I was dying. Didn't even get an apology needless to say I have lost faith in GPS. Why didn't she use the software provided. It flags up to tell the Gp that the combination of these drugs are a definite no no.

Just reading this and am experiencing exactly the same reaction! Prescribed Tramadol for shoulder pain recently and was fine on them (stopped taking them around 6 months ago) but then I fell at the weekend and which hurt my shoulder again so thought I would take a dose of Tramadol to help me to sleep with the pain. I've never felt anything like it. Felt completely relaxed at first (which is all I've ever experienced in the past) but then the sick feeling started to kick in, couldn't stop shaking and lost all sense of who I was!! Spent the night being sick and woke up 12 hours later to still shaking and nausea. Never in my life will I take these again!

My doctor perscribed me 4x50mg pills/day and i managed to take 3 yesterday until i started vomiting.
Took 1 tablet this morning and that was enough to make me throw up again, after vomiting i feel fine though.
I can't imagine what it must feel like taking 200mg in one go.
