I, too, have been suffering with back pain for many years. Neither injections or physical therapy helped. I have found lifestyle changes to be the most successful. Basically, I try to minimize the tilting of the pelvis. I only sit on firm, level chairs and sleep on a rock-hard mattress. I walk slowly and avoid walking up hills. I always wear shoes with thick soles. One doctor gave me a "belt" to wear around my lower back and that does seem to help. I will try to think of more ideas.
