Hello. I'm 25 year old male and just recently I have experienced one strange but very serious condition.
I woke up in the morning and my whole face was red. During the day- it all spread to my hands and my chest. I've contacted my dermatologist over this and he told me it is some Streptococcal infection of the skin called erysipelas!
Anyway, he told me I would be just fine and prescribed me some drug called Biaxin. I'm just interested could anyone maybe tell me more about this drug because I'm very concerned about possible side effects!

I'm very sorry that you’ve developed this condition and although it isn’t so serious, I bet it is very unpleasant. I know that it looks frightening. Your doctor prescribed you one very good and new drug on the market.
Biaxin, an antibiotic chemically related to erythromycin, is used to treat certain bacterial infections and erysipelas is just one of them. Important fact about this drug is that you shouldn’t miss any dose. Like any other drugs there are some side effects that occur from using it such as abdominal pain, abnormal taste, diarrhea, nausea, rash, vomiting. One more thing- you shouldn’t use this drug of you have any kidney disease!
