Hi, I have had the mirena coil fitted for 2-3 yrs i did have a few issues at the start but they settled down and i loved having it, i would the odd time get some slight spotting but nothing to worry about. Over the past few months ive noticed a little more blood during these spotting times, blood a few times after intercourse, and then last week I got awful period pains and all of a sudden started heavy bleeding it continued for a few days then stopped. Within a week it happened again, horrid pains and then bleeding all of a sudden, however it was such a large blood clot. The pains and bleeding lasted around a day and have again stopped. 

I just don’t know if I should be really concerned or not as its totally out of the ordinary for me.
