Hi

This is a normal type of period for some women who are using the contraceptive pill.  Especially being your first period since you started to take the pill, it may be a lot lighter than you are used to.  It may turn into a normal red period in a few days, or may continue for just another day or two in the brownish colour it is now and then stop.  It sometimes takes a few months for your periods to regulate using the pill and before this happens you can experience spotting, usually a pinkish or brownish discharge as you are experiencing now,  This can be accompanied my cramps or can be pain free.  Continue taking your pill as you are supposed to.  If you are on the 7 day break re start on the day you are supposed to.  If bleeding occurs during the next month again this is spotting, continue with the pill.  If this does not seem to settle after three months go back to your Dr as this type of pill may not be quite right for you and they will give you one with a slightly diffrent amount of hormones in it.

I hope this has helped
