I had this same problem last night. I am 42, have endometriosis, and a fibroid tumor. My period was 15 days late, so I was thinking that FINALLY (after hoping we could have one more child...we have two boys and really want to try one more time), that this was it, that I was pregnant. Well, after intercourse, on going to the bathroom, I noticed red streaks on the tissue along with a discharge. That progressed overnight. I woke up this morning with dark red blood from my vagina. Now I am having pain in my left side along with the dark red blood. I mentioned this to my friend who doesn't think this is normal. I already have an appointment scheduled with my doctor for this coming week. I am not sure what is going on, but am hoping it is nothing serious. I just had a Pap smear a few weeks ago. I don't know the results though yet. I am wondering if maybe I could have some kind of hormonal issues after reading some of these posts, or perhaps from my fibroid. I am so glad to see though that others are having this problem.

Hello, I am 26 and I am married, and I have been dealing with this bleeding problem for the past 6 years with my husband. It happens sometimes, and other times I'm fine. My biggest concern is that there is this one spot that hurts badly when penetrated, and then I bleed. I've been to several doctors. I do have HPV, and I also had a LEEP done at age 20. My paps have been normal for the past 6 years, so the doctors tell me it's just scar tissue being irritated from the leep procedure. I am so frustrated, and I just want answers. I will be going to see my fourth gyno in 6 years. I sure hope she'll have some answers. No one should have to go through this..

Im 15 years old, turning 16 soon. I have been sexually active for less than a year, and Ive had 3 partners. I never bled until I was involved with my boyfriend now. I bleed every time we have intercourse for the past 3 months.
He is really scared and so am I. Is this normal at my age?

My doc says it's just a sensitve cervix. . . I have had the bleeding problem the last two times I've had sex - no pain at all with it. I'm 28 and healthy. I happened to have an appointment with my gyno a few days after the last time and she said that I have a sensitive cervix (that even the pap made it bleed a little) and it's not a problem -just a little inconvienient. Um, a little!? My question to you other gals out there who have this issue - how do you bring it up to a guy your ready to have sex with? Sounds like most of you discovered this with your current partner. Has anyone had to bring this up to someone new? How did they react?

well the only reason my current partner found out is because the first time it happened was with him, he didnt seem bothered as if its a normal thing =S. However it depends how heavily you bleed during and after sex that is the problem. With me it depends and i just feel embarrassed.I dont know how you can tell the person your going to sleep with, if its not alot then you might not have to mention anything, however i dont know... sorry, my partner wasnt really bothered but it does affect our sex life a bit. sorry im not much help

Ive got the same problem, I bleed during sex, never after. But the thing is its not regular, it only happens on some occasions. I've been sexually active for about a year now and I've only slept with one partner, and we hadn't changed anything from the first time we had sex, but now were not together. Im worried that if i sleep with anyone else, I might bleed again.
I dont know what the problem is, my partner was exactly big and I didn't bleed when we first had sex, but the bleeding has been a problem for a while, and I find it really embarrassing. I see people have mentioned cancer and that doesn't sound too great? If anyone find out the problem, let me know..

Hi, I've had the same problem as you guys (for about a year) and have recently managed to solve it!
This is how:
- Firstly, when you wash yourself make sure that you are using a gentle soap and are not so vigorous that you could cause skin damage.
- Next thing is that we tried Durex's new non-latex condoms, Avanti, in case I was having a reaction and inflammation due to the latex.
- Lastly, we tried a new lubricant called Liquid Silk. It's *WAY* better than KY, just give it a try and you'll see what I mean.
Of these three things, I think the lubricant made the difference and I would highly recommend it.

Hello all,
I have been in the same boat as all of you for a little over a year now. My first doctor said I just had an irritated cervix and that they would change my pill. I recently moved and began seeing a new doctor who explained to me the its not necessarily an irritation. I have something called cervical eversion or cervical ectropion. It is apparently very common in young people and people taking the pill. I know how scared, confused, and alone I felt, so I wanted to pass this on to let you all know to ask your doctor about it/google it.

My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year and have been sexually active for just as long. Usually we never have problems but last night, while we were having sex, he stopped because he noticed i was bleeding everywhere. Embarrassed, I thought I had started my period. But after I cleaned up, there was no more blood. I told my boyfriend and he started freaking out, apologizing because he though he hurt me. He is well endowed and sometimes it hurts when we make love but it has never made me bleed. I have looked this up on the internet and most of the sites about it have shaken me to the core with words like cancer, infection, or stds... The last five times I've freaked out because of stomach pains or abnormalities and gone to the doctor... I spent a lot of money for them to tell me the same thing over and over. I have multiple ovarian cysts. I'm curious if, before I empty my bank account, whether it could have been caused by this or that he was just too rough...?

So glad to find this site i am 17 years old had some previous partners but have never bled until my boyfriend now it has only happened a few times we thought it was just the certain position that the bleeding happened so we didn't have sex for a couple days then it was fine. After a few more times it started happening again its only ever during sex never after is there an actual reason this happens i have started a new pill (Yasmin) could that have anything to do with it? i hate it because it kills the mood he's really good about it but sex isn't fun when your worried your going to be bleeding there's also no pain so i don't notice until finishing sex.

I have this same problem. the past 5 or 6 times i've had sex I have bled a lot. and by the time we were done it would be on us and there would be spots all on the bed.
sometimes i do feel a mild pain but it's for a split second. so i figured it had something to do with it. maybe too deep penetration? but then again i havent felt pain EVERYTIME i've bled a lot. so i'm not sure what to think.
I take depo provera. and that may have something to do with it. my boyfriend and i were talking about why i would be bleeding. and were worried about me being pregnant. we came up with a few things it could be.
1)infection.
2) because i take depo, i only get my period within the first week of the shot and only for a few days. and your body has to get rid of the blood somehow.
but i can't understand why it would come out so heavy during sex.
and this is the first time i've bled like this. and i've been taking depo about 9 months or so.
3) i could be pregnant and my body could jsut be getting rid of the excess blood that it would usually get rid of during my period but since i dont have them...it would come now.
what also scares me a little is...
i have been having mood swings pretty madly, or i think i have.
my emotions have been up the wall.
and i've been fatigued like crazy.
also having an almost constant headache.
and those are symptoms of pregnancy but don't necessarily mean I am pregnant...
I'm just wanting to know if it's more likely that it's an infection, i'm pregnant, or jsut because of the depo.
so i will know what to do about it.
i'm going to go to the clinic one day soon here and see what's up.
i just wanted to see who else had these problems and what they could
tell me it was... with them.
i don't mind if i am pregnant or if i'm not. but i would rather not be because it's scary. and i'm only 18. but i love children and i want one.
but still. it's scary and i'm young. so... yeah.
jsut give me some ideas, advice, anything will help.
thanks :-)

I was so happy to find this forum. Im 21 and Ive been sexually active for a while. In the past few years Ive experienced bleeding, sometimes heavy, during intercourse. I never feel any pain and the bleeding stops afterwards. Ive seen my OBGYN a countless number of times, but I still have no answer. I get tested regularly for STDs and its always negative. This is so annoying...I feel better knowing im not the only one though...

I'm 25, and recently started having this same problem. I've been sexually active for years and have never had an issue of bleeding during sex. The guy I'm dating usually has to tell me, once we're done that I am bleeding- it doesn't hurt and the feeling it gives is more of a wet feeling than a "bloody" feeling (if that's even possible). I've noticed, if I stop early on, around the first arousal I am good and will not bleed, but when I tell him to keep going is where the problem arises. I finally went to my OBGYN about it, since it started to affect my sex life (He's been real cautious lately, not wanting to "hurt me").
At first look she said I looked fine, upon further explanation, the doctor said it looked like part of my cervix was inside out. She didn't act too alarmed- yet anytime it is touched, it bleeds, excessively. During my bioposy to check for HPV it took over 30 minutes to stop the bleeding.
Turns out I did have HPV, and had the procedure to freeze it off, waited recommended 3 weeks and we tried again. Same problem...
At this point I'm so confused and worried- I just want to have a normal sex life like I use to.....

Wow! I didn't realize it happened to so many people.
I took a break from sex for about 5 years and now that I am very much active again, this is a very inconvenient issue for me.
I am a little rough with sex, just a bit, but I always have been and now Im having this problem.
Ive taken the same STD tests, HIV/AIDS test, tests for polyps and cysts and all have been positive for nothing, so Im free of that.
But it doesn't help that I have this issue that occurs. And I agree with the above statement - it does feel like I am super-duper wet and we get into it even more, but then at the end of it all, its a bloody mess.
I want it to stop!!!!!!!!!!!
