A few weeks ago, my kitten ran away, and I was searching for him in a bush when a sharp plant jabbed me in the face. It barely left a mark- just a little white bump on the side of my cheek.

Suddenly, two weeks later, this tiny bump flared up and became swollen and painful. It was so large and red that the color took over half my cheek.

Around a week later (now), the swelling has gone down and it is not longer painful. It is a slight bump and it is still quite red.

My concern, though, is that it is very hard (like a hard ball under the skin) and very large. And worse, it does not seem to be diminishing or coming to head-- just sitting at a stand still.

I do NOT want an injection or excision, it's right on my cheek bone!! Could this go away on it's own? Should I see a dermotologist?
