I would like some information regarding my father’s breathing problems. Actually, he just stopped smoking after three decades of two packs a day and you cannot imagine the state of his lungs. It is a miracle he did not get affected by some dangerous condition but it is serious as it is. He is even taking some breathe training as a part of pulmonary rehabilitation.

Well, it will take a lot of time for his lungs to recover a little. And most likely, they cannot get back to a 100% status. This is due to the accumulated toxins and damaged lung tissue. I suppose that the best thing here is that he stopped poisoning himself, but I am afraid that the consequences might still be felt.
