No cold here, but I just got home from an afternoon of errands. It is dark outside, but all of a sudden I had a bright spot which I described to my wife as what you see after a quick peek at the sun. It's been 25 minutes now and it's still there. So I did what everybody seems to do these days, and came here online. The key words I used brought me straight to this post. I wonder if anybody ever saw what the outcome of the guy before me, who had a bright spt for7 hours?

Same here, I caught a cold, then after a couple of days resting when I went back to work I noticed it's difficult for me to read. I saw an optometrist who gave me glasses with a minor change (my eyes are slightly nearsighten). The problem didn't go away with glasses and I noticed something is wrong with one eye. When I flash my eye very quickly in front of a white wall, I see this light circle (yes , as big as a penny, cause that's the area of the eye affected). It's been 2 weeks and it's still there, very annoying but i had my eyes checked twice and no problem detected.

Hi Dennis,

I've had a similar problem, I did consult my doctor he was not sure what it was so he adviced me to go and consult an optometrist, which I didn't have to do as it had gone overnight. I'll also recommend that you eat food that is good for your eye health ( carrots, green veggies...)

I have the same ring of light but only when I blink after using computer. My ophthalmologist doesn't know what it is after examining my retina.

I have the same problem for almost a year. Doctors can't find anything. I'm having my sinuses check since I been having problems.

I have had a bright flash in my eyes, predominantly my left eye and i noticed it yesterday while i was reading my Bible. I had to stop and hold my eyes for ten mins because it started to really bother me and i just couldn't understand what was going on. But its just like somebody just flashed a pic of me in my face with a camera. I only really notice when i blink..lol..which is every second. .but it really doesn't show up when im focused or looking at anything. Im experiencing some very slight eye maybe headache pain..things that ive been able to self diagnose as possible causes...ive cut my coffee down to almost nothing and substituted wawa green tea(cold half gallon) ive also cut my Coca-Cola out ,which I usually drink a half 20 oz. Or one whole 20 oz. a night at work. I work nights and have been wearing yellow protective goggles at work instead of the clear because my clear ones are scratched. .i also take shift work disorder meds to help me stay awake because i work nights and days.. ive also been experiencing some bladder pain that has come on with the eye flashes and all this has happened to be honest with the wawa tea..idk sounds crazy but thats the only new thing or change to my diet..besides cutting coffee consumption too i guess..

This could be a cyst on the inside of your upper eye lid.
i had one, and the pressure on the eye creates a distortion of the light into the eye.

Treated with cream and eye drops
