Late June 2009 I had quad cabg surgery and a few days later My sternum seperated. A few weeks later a plastic surgeon performed a muscle flap to repair the sternum. Unfortunately a week later a major infection developed in my thorasic cavity. Another operation to open and clean the cavity. It was left open for another week or so and I was taking Vancomycin IV to help get rid of the infection.

In the middle of August, 2009 I had a second muscle flap procedure. Although it held for several months, my sternum once again seperated.

Now it is February 2010 and I'm still walking around with a completely seperated sternum. Although it is not very painfful, it is exceedingly uncomfortable. I just visited my Heart surgeon yesterday and he had little or no advice for me.

Can you tell me what I should do.
