My brother suffers from some lung disorder. He said he has some calcification mass on his lungs. Is that possible? What is calcification?

Hi. Calcification is a process in which calcium builds up in your body tissue. Because of that, your tissue will harden. Calcification can be a normal process, and it can also be abnormal. When calcium enters your body, 99% of it will be deposit in your bones and teeth. 1% will be dissolved in your blood. However, if you are hit with some disorder that affects the balance between calcium and other minerals in your body, calcium can deposit in your kidneys, lungs and brain. It can cause problems with their function. Pulmonary calcification is caused by dystrophic or metastatic form.
