I started taking calcium and magnesium supplements (CalMax). CalMax is an instant mineral powder with the 2:1 ratio of calcium to magnesium; each serving provides 400 mg of calcium, 200 mg of magnesium and 500 mg of vitamin C. I am taking it with a food for a week now, but I don’t see effects.

I think you shouldn’t take calcium and magnesium supplements with food. Oxalate, phosphorous and sulfate in food will bind these elements (Ca & Mg), forming salts that can not be absorbed and are excreted in stool. Wait at least one and preferably two hours after meals before taking these or take them before you go to bed.
