can a female doctor and nurse perform a male genital exam?

I’ve had a female doctor/ nurse practitioner for many years and am much more comfortable with a woman health care provider. It’s a little embarrassing but I just don’t feel comfortable with a man examining me. It seems creepy. As for getting an erection, that’s never happened.

I’ve had a female doctor for years. She gives me a complete physical once a year. I feel much more comfortable with a woman doing that. Having a man examining me really creeps me out and makes me really up tight. I just can’t do it. That’s just me.

I will try to answer this question as well as I can. There is no reason why a female doctor cannot give you a genital exam. For her, it is just her job and when she is examining you that is what she will be thinking about.
The more difficult problem is whether a female chaperone will be with her. Most female doctors when examining male patients do not use a chaperone. There is no justified reason for a chaperone to be present during an examination of a male patient. Men are not passive aggressive. You do not have to accept the presence of a chaperone. It is one thing to be naked and be examined by a professional just doing her job. It is quite another to have someone sitting and just watching. While erections during examinations are common and usually ignored by medical professionals, the chances of them occurring in front of a kibitzer are far greater. You do NOT have to accept a chaperone! I have been embarrassed by this exact occurrence and I will not undergo it again. Personally, I will accept anyone regardless of gender if they need to be there. I will further accept anyone regardless of gender, if they have a reason to be there, like a student, and they ask me first. However, if they do not ask first or if the third person is going to sit and watch, I am going to get up and leave! I hope this helps you.

Last year during my annual physical I saw a female Dr. when it came time to do the exam of the groin area and prostate she brought the very young girl in that takes your blood pressure and weight before taking you to the room I didn't mind a chaperone but during the scrotum and penis exam she stood in a position and stared directly at my private area and also while getting my prostate exam she was directly in front of me facing me it seemed odd . I've had exams in the past and the chaperone always stood near the door and never really looked directly at me was this common or just the chaperone possibly being inexperienced

Sure, if she's a doctor she could. I have a female doctor and she's done several testicular and prostate exams on me. I don't get embarrassed by this but even if I did, the embarrassment would be nothing compare to having an issue and not having it found.

I have a female NP who does my yearly physical, and every time she removes my gown an gives me a complete genitalia exam handling my penis and testicles, one time had me there completely naked while she used her stethoscope on my testicles and legs while I layed there with a complete erection

Often times the doctor is required to use a chaperone by the higher ups. This is done for legal reasons and the chaperones are trained to watch intently every thing that goes on in case they are needed to testify in a court trial.
I use a female doctor and she always has a chaperone in the room when she examines me. I will sometimes look over at the chaperone while the doctor is examining me. They are always staring straight at my genitals and never look me in the eye.
I have gotten used to this set up and have learned to deal with it. My doctor always gives me a very professional and thorough exam.

Talking about an erection at the wrong time!!! I had finally found a good female Dr. and had been going to her for two years for my annual physicals. There was always a female chaperone in the room while my exam was taking place. On the third year, my wife insisted that she wanted to accompany me to this exam. She then asked me to stand up on the step of the exam table. My wife was seated off to the side with a clear view. The nurse repositioned herself so that she could watch everything.
The doctor then placed the gown that I was desperately clutching, on the table, and I was standing there totally nude in front of two strange women and my wife. She spoke to my wife and said "I am now going to examine your husbands genitalia." I made the mistake of looking over at my wife, and she was staring at my genitals with the biggest eyes I have ever seen. I then looked at the nurse who was also staring intently at my genitals. Then for some reason, the worst happened. I will never understand why, but I began to get an erection. The doctor stroked my pubic hair in order to check my skin. She pressed her gloved fingers against my skin close to my penis and had me cough. She gently pressed her thumb and fingers down the shaft of my penis, it became a full blown hard on. With that she moved so that she could look at my back. My wife was facing us and the nurse was at such an angle that she could see everything that went on. She listened to my breathing and inspected the skin on my back asking me if I had ever sunned bathed. She looked at my face and ran her fingers slowly through my hair. She then told me to lie back on the exam table. The doctor then pulled my gown down below my stomach to where my pubic hair was peaking out below the gown. The doctor started talking to my wife saying that she was checking for any signs of skin cancer, moles, etc. She then pushed in several places all over my abdomen. She and my wife then began a conversation as the doctor slowly slid my gown down exposing my penis. As I looked around, every female in the room was staring directly at my genital area. The doctor looked through my pubic hair area, telling my wife that it was good to check this area monthly for any lesions or funny looking moles.
