Hi. Yesterday I have noticed some vaginal discharge and think that I should go for gynecological exam. This is my very first time and I would like to know what`s gyno exam like? What will happen at my first appointment?

Hi. First you will have to answer some questions about your periods and sexual life. You will have to take off your clothes and lie down on the exam table. Then you place your feet in foot rests and spread apart your knees. They will put speculum into your vagina, saying that it doesn`t hurt, but it does (a bit). After that, your doc will insert fingers into vagina (pelvic exam). They wear gloves, of course. I prefer a woman to be my health care provider. Maybe they will give you a rectal exam, after the pelvic one.
