I know a little bit about Legionella, in that I have heard it mentioned on the news from time to time, and I know that it can be fatal. I didn't know that Legionella infections can cause al kinds of secondary diseases though, including, I think, pneumonia? Is this true? Can Legionella cause pneumonia?

Yes, Legionella can be the trigger for pneumonia, and this is very dangerous when acquired. In fact, around 28 per cent of patients with Legionella caused pneumonia dies. I guess that you already knew that Legionella was something to stay away from, but now you have one more reason to be very scared of this horrible bacteria!
