I have had my Mirena IUD for 7 years. It is the only birth control method that has been successful for me. I had several pregnancies while on other forms of birth control. I read that the 'time release horomones" are causing my body to be in an estrogen positve state making it difficult to lose weight. I also read that the horomone in the Mirena is tricking my body into thinking it is pregnant and that is why I look like I am in my 1st trimester. I can detox, eat healthy, do a ton of cardio, and even lift weights. I maintain a weight heavier than I would like to be. I can eat junk,and get lazy, and the the only thing that will change is the softening of my muscles and mu face will round out, but my weight still maintains. Please share if you have experienced the same and what you have done without removing it to achieve weight loss.
