I've been a smoker for 30 years, a pack or more a day. Do you think 14 days of not smoking will help?

I believe he or she was saying he or she beats those test for wrk....... Maybe u should read everything that person wrote again.. N there child helps them with wrk.... And its sad to here u have to do that to YOUR child. Drug test him every three days. Why not prevent that and not let him out of the house and home school him.. I hate to c what he does when he does hit 18!!!! Sucks when someone comes on here and has nothing but bad things about everyones comments n experiences.. Isnt that what this blog is for???? Just because u cant get a grip on ur rebellious teen ( i wonder why... Poor child cant breath with a mom like that ) doesnt mean u can lash out on grown men and woman sharing there experiences.

Well, you're probably dead now anyway, since this blog is so old.

Actually they don't tell you to quit smoking because you'll die under anesthesia it's because it slows the healing process so hopefully you look that up. Who should have to test for nicotene it's legal for adults. Your welcome

I hate this stupid time period. I am so glad I did have a parent like you growing up or I would have never had anyone to help me with issues and would hide everything possible from you.

I was a ppd smoker and stopped cold turkey, and passed the cotinine test within 10 days. I drank plenty of water, and did my usual 3 miles per day. No problem!

Doctors strongly recommend stopping smoking at least eight weeks before surgery. If you smoke, you will have much higher risks for serious complications during and after surgery. If you continue to smoke, you will be more likely to: starve your heart of oxygen. In my case they asked for six week free and that to help shrink the liver back to normal size so they can perform surgery on my stomach with the liver being in the way.

Most definitely... The kid is ultimately going to do what he/she wants. The most you can do is educate them and set an example. As far as testing every 2-3 days until 18... Don't you have a hobby? What a shitty way to remember their teenage years... All privileges taken away for every fail which equals no life... For a frikkin cigarette...

Thats BS I smoke almost 2 packs of Newports a day and I quit at 6am Wednesday morning and had a Cotinine blood test on that same Friday at 10:45AM and passed the test! Even the nurse that took the blood from me was telling me that if I had just 1 cigarette in the past 30 days I would have failed the test lol Nimitz!!!!!

All you need is just 48 hours of no nicotine to pass the blood test. I don't work out or drink water often. I just sit at my computer mostly. I just put my cigarettes down and around 52 hours after I quit i took the blood test and it showed negative for cotinine
