Just quit when you were asked to and you would not have to worry about testing. It's for you own health anyway.

I by no means want to cheat any thing or anybody but I am an addict !! And addict to nicotine !!!! I need a surgery that will change my life and can't quit smoking ..... Or at least not the time frame my surgeon requires. I just want truthful answers by someone other than my stiff necked surgeon who can't understand how anyone could smoke a cigarette. Well I will stay off them long enough to pass whatever test he pulls on day of surgery but the 6 weeks prior is bull !!! It should still be my choice !!

I know you can get the drug tests over the counter at walmart so you might ask the pharmacist there if you can also get the nicotine test there too. If not maybe they can tell you where you CAN get one.

I agree I have been a smoker and a non-smoker (a non-smoker) longer, yes we have a lot of dictators in our country if you are Christian it is a crisis even though no one forces anyone to participate or believe. Wasn't there something like freedom of religion not freedom from religion. Pray to who ever. If you do smoke, well so not smoke in you work clothes (company logo or badge or while working environment/premises. If you are a health care worker it is hard to be contradictory and tell a COPD patient smoking is bad if you smell like an ashtray. However other than that, who cares what someone does that is legal and has been legal for years on their own time!! I agree we live in a country full of control freaks that think they have it all figured out! We even have people that leave their crappie country to come here and complain! What? We have controls freaks from everywhere even non-citizens trying to dictate and complain? Well sorry I got on a political tangent that could go on for pages.... But I agree don't smoke at work or in your uniform However, the smoker is the one that ultimately pays the price whether it be higher insurance rates or little or no life insurance coverage and/or poor future health. However being a healthcare worker please note: do not think you are perfect because you don't smoke mean while popping your mind altering anti-depressants to help your stress because often people smoke to help with stress. It is ok to take anti-depressants I'm simply saying do not be so judgmental without walking a mile in someone's shoes. I have met people that of all their addictions; it is a blessing that all they do is smoke a cigarette. And just because someone needs to "cheat a test" to get a job in a certain amount of days does not mean that cheating is the goal it is passing the test in time to get a job that may lead to them permanently being smoke free. Also of all the people that complain about welfare recipients and food stamp users not working it is an oxy m***n to complain if someone is doing what it takes to get a job. Again it is always someone that thinks they have it all figured out and yet wouldn't know what it is like to hang their head in shame to walk in DHS for help that complains about every little nit picky detail of another who has less. And etc.....

Actually, the mortality rate of weight loss surgeries is NOT any higher than other comparable procedures like gall bladder surgery etc. The risk of going under anesthesia as a smoker increases the risk for ANY surgery.

People are learning to cheat and pass tests because employers discriminate. It's not their business if I choose to smoke on my free time. And those that are self-righteous saying "just quit", this isn't the right forum for you. Go away. Maybe I won't cheat the system, not get the job and get government assistance. At least someone can get unemployment and EBT cards without testing for nicotine use, right?
