Me too. . It's horrible. Really upset the dentist is not taking me seriously. Just because he is not aware of these things happening, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

This is awful! It's been 24 hours since I had two fillings on upper teeth. Eyes won't stop watering and nose running. It's only on the side of face the cavities were filled. I'm surprised there isn't more information on this.

I went to the dentist 36 hours ago and had multiple injections. I am still suffering from extreme cold symptoms - running nose, sneezing, thick head and sore eyes....so glad to read these posts although house it will clear up soon...

I have the same symptoms! I'm in Ibiza and have been sniffing Coke for 7 days straight so googled them and it's lead me here.

This also happened to me. I went to dentist yesterday morning with no runny nose and can't remember the last time I sneezed. I had novacaine on upper right side above right cuspid (canine). even while being worked on in the dentist chair I felt a sneeze coming on. never has that happened before. By the time I got home and my nose was running alot. where's that kleenex? now the next day in afternoon I am still sneezing and runny nose. there is no pain, but i am wondering when it will get back to normal. there is a tickle in my nose, only the right nostril is affected. the upside though is my dentist did a fabulous job and my tooth looks great!

Thank you Kate for giving the time frame with symptoms. I've been searching all the posts to see when it stops and yours gave the most hope with definitive time frame. Mine started Wednesday, now Sunday the sore throat started but the nose turned off yesterday for the most part. Have you had it happen again after going to the dentist?

Happy I was able to provide some help/hope! I haven't had it again since but I have also been avoiding any major dental work since this happened. My dentist said he had never heard of this before. Glad you are feeling a bit better! It is truly awful.

Same symptons after a toothe extraction. Must be the Novocaine. The question is how to get rid of those symptons.

The only thing that helped me was taking Benadryl at night - it let me get some relief through sleep. It was pure hell for about 3 days, but it does get better after that. My cold symptoms lasted a little over a week from what I remember. -Kate

And here I am, dental work done earlier today, on my front teeth, lots of shots above my teeth under my nose, lidocane wouldn't take, (that's never happened to me before), and I got double shots. Now my left nostril won't stop running, left eye tearing, and a tickle in my left nostril that won't stop causing me to sneeze. I have never had any type of nasal allergy.
