I too have super sensitivity to scents. It's miserable. I had sinus surgery last year for constant sinus infections. I'm glad I found this site, because I have had a constant tickle in my nose after 2 shots for tooth extraction. I've been going crazy trying to figure out what is triggering my nose. My ears have fluid and head congestion. I've never had a constant tickle. It usually resolves after I'm away from the scent. Especially since my sinus surgery. I've never had this problem with Novacain before. I wonder if it's a "new improved" version.

I was so relieved to find this site. I had a gingival graft and had multiple shots to numb my lower teeth and palate. Immediately after leaving the office I had a sneezing fit, eye watered and I have been constantly blowing my nose for over 24 hours. During the procedure I actually told the dentist as he was giving me the shot that I felt a burning sensation in my nose and could taste the numbing agent. I'm trying Claritin to help dry up my passages. If it wasn't for my constant runny nose this whole procedure wouldn't have been that bad. I'm miserable with constantly blowing my nose.

I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy! I can certainly empathize. If it makes you feel any better, it only lasts 3 - 4 days. Good Luck!

Meeee tooo! I am miserable! The pain to breathe in is aweful! When will it end? I literally cannot breath out of my nose as the pain makes me sneeze immediately. I’m assuming it does go away though as people stopped responding. Ugh I am getting vaneers and just had my first appt for the crown lengthening and now I don’t wanna go back . I feel like Kleenex is my New accessory. Crossing my fingers.

had two deep post crowns on my two upper front teeth and have been plagued by hayfever like symptoms for months one of the crowns was taken out as it failed and i have obviously still got the symptoms of hayfever irritability in nose, like one of the other posters said i want to rub my nose off its that bad at times, the hayfever centrazine and loratadine (something like that) dont work im sure that the dental post crowns have or are touching sinus nerves or something, worried about going to see him now incase he decides to take away my other front tooth and i have no recourse but to pay for expensive cosmetic dental surgery

I know this thread is old...but I'm glad i found it...i thought I was goin nuts or a cold snuck up on me out of absolutely no where! Went to the dentist today n during the shot in the roof of my mouth, I felt an awful pain go through my nose...after the numbness wore off, I could not stop sneezing n my nose keeps running! Uve been to the dentist a million times in my 36 years n never have I ever sneezed after being numbed up...i read here that a nerve was possibly annoyed bybthr needle...makes perfect sense...hopefully the symptoms go away soon..anyone remember how long it typically lasted?

Just adding to this post as I have been in bed all day in terrible head pain. I went to the dentist this AM at 8, hoping to get an early appointment and salvage the day. Nope got work done on my front right tooth and have been congested all day. I felt a sneeze come on while waiting for the numbing to begin and the more the novacane wore off the more congested I got. Hoping for 3 days of this vs 5. Good luck to everyone else! I’ll def bring it up to my doctor.
