Hello, folks. I know that if sinusitis is not treated properly, it can lead to some complications. I would like to know if it can spread to bone walls of the sinus. I would really appreciate if someone could tell me something more about this. Thank you in advance for replying.

Hello, there. You are right. Sinusitis can give some complications. Spreading on the walls of the sinus is just one of them. The inflammation can spread to the bone and bone marrow. This is called osteomyelitis. It can affect only outer layer of the bone. In that case, we are talking about periostitis. In any case, you should treat your sinusitis in order not to experience some of these complications. I hope this helps. Bye!
