I'm having similar worries right now. I've been on the pill for 2 + years. I've occasionally missed a dose, but for the last 2 months we have been using both condoms and birth control. None of the condoms have broken, and we've been careful to make sure we used them right. My last period was about 2 weeks ago, but it was very very light. I've been nauseated pretty consistently over the last 4 days, constipated, moody, and smells are bugging me. I can smell everything, and it's not pleasant. Searching my symptoms on the internet just got me a ton of links to health sites that assured me these were pregnancy things. Other than the smell stuff, it seems pretty much like a case of nerves. But all the symptoms together are kind of freaking me out a little.
Worth getting a test, or no? I haven't missed a period yet, the only reason I'm considering this is the smell and the fact that my last period was light.

heres the thing i take the same bc as you do and so do my friends. depending on how long youve been taking it, it really does effect your period. like my friend has hers every 4 months and i only get mine for 2 days. so you shouldnt worry

The odds of your being pregnant after 1) being on the pill consistantly, and 2) using the condom correctly and every time....
are very very slight.

okay so i am on the pill norinyl 1+35 and i have been on it for now 3 months and im just now starting to get the side effects and like my period was very very light this month and its never happened before and one of the things that could make my pills less effective is tylonol and i use it because i didnt know. i always use condoms but im freaking out. could i be pregnat? like i feel sick which it says could be a side effect and i get head aches which is a side effect and i have alot of the side effects so should i be worried?

my best friend is 16 and she wants to have sex with her boy friend. They have only been together for 6months. She is VERY immature and naiive... she is about to go behind her mother and fathers back and get birth control... she is getting serious about all of this. Your friend is making decisions for herself, and it does sound like she is preparing to take precautions.
Now, you could tell your friend that YOU want to go get counseling about having sex...and that you want her support and input.
In this way, she would get the info that you want her to hear, but you won't be preaching.
It's doubtful that she be convinced by a friend telling her that she's too immature for sex, but then again, she might if you tell her why you feel you are not ready.

im having the same probleme i normaly get it on the 21 its the 23 so imonly a little worried i still have 4 more sugar pills left so thats 4 days until i can get my period i dont think stress effects you as much if your on the pill but once the sugar pills are done i dont think you can get your period but thats just how my system works it might be different for other people

I have recently been told by my ex that she could be pregnant. I don't understand how it can happen with as you said the percentages of how effective the pill and condoms are meant to be above.!? We used both forms of contraception and the condom never split once. She is on quite a lot of medication, but apparently her G.P says they wouldn't cause some of the symptoms which she has been having. If she is pregnant she would be about 8-9 weeks, would you not know at that stage? At this age can you not hear the babies heartbeat? Please help i'm a nervous wreck. It should be the best news of my life, i shouldnt feel like this.

heeey i was just wondering me and my girl friend had sex and we used a condom but we wanted to be safe so she took plan B now could she be pregnant she might have had her period but we dont know she had all the symptons of a regular period but on the Plan B box it says may deal with spotting so we are not sure if it was her period or spotting... so what do we do we used a condom and plan b and she took a doller store pregnacy test and it came back negative so should we just wait till the next month so see if she starts her period or go to a doctor BY the way we are 17

I met someone once who took birth control pills and used condoms, and she got pregnant with twins. The odds are just that- odds. Math class teaches you that probability increases or decreases depending on what happens, but what happens in this situation is going to depend on the person. Having sex at all is rolling out the welcome mat for pregnancy. Combined contraceptives make pregnancy improbable but not impossible, and it will be less improbable each time a couple has sex. Sex is for people who would at least be emotionally prepared to deal with a planned or unplanned pregnancy.
