Hi, I got results of my blood test, but I don’t understand the AST, ALT, SGOT, SGPT, and GGT? Can you help interpret what this is???

The abbreviations you have mentioned are for enzymes, found in the liver, which are involved in metabolism. They are also present in muscles and heart. In case of injury there is increased number of these enzymes in the blood. According to results of your blood test, the doctor is capable to determine more precisely what is wring with you. ALT stands for alkaline phosphatase, an enzyme found in bones and the liver. It is increased in children in growing period and pregnant women. In other cases it presents some kind of damage of the liver.
